  • BC splits two games

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - Back-to-back road games for a team without a single returning starter could have been tough last weekend for the Bullitt Central Cougars.

  • 480C section closed through end of year

     The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 5 Office advises motorists that KY 480C (Old Cedar Grove Road) in Bullitt County will be closed between KY 480 and KY 2237 (Salt River Road).

    This roadway is scheduled for closure December 6-31 to allow for sewer line installation.

    Local access will be allowed, but through traffic should follow the signed detour.

    The actual starting date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.

  • ROADWORK: Week of Dec. 3

     The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 5 reports the following roadwork scheduled for the week of Dec. 3:

    Bullitt County:

    Routine maintenance

    Jefferson County:

    Interstate 64:  Lane closures and delays possible at the Hurstbourne Parkway entrance and exit ramps (mile point 15.0) due to interchange improvements.  These lane closures are possible weeknights from 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning.  Shoulder closures are possible during the daytime. 

  • Bullitt Central teams split opening games of season

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - It was two totally different worlds for Bullitt Central’s basketball teams as they opened the 2012-13 season playing programs at two totally different ends of the talent spectrum.

  • East Honors Brangers

     Bullitt East soccer coach Mike Brangers was honored back during the season after winning his 100th game as the Chargers’ head coach. 

    Brangers played his high school soccer at Bullitt East before returning and becoming the head coach. 

    Brangers was given the game ball from the 100th victory, a 3-0 victory over Bardstown.

  • Catch ‘em when you can - odd scheduling this winter

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - When you have one of the top basketball teams in the state, if not the country, lots of teams want you on the schedule.

  • Eagles take early hit; now retooling

     NEW CASTLE - Foul trouble in the second half turned into a ball and chain around the angle of the North Bullitt Eagles on Tuesday as they opened the 2012-13 season with a 59-49 loss at Henry County.

  • North girls start last, finish fast

     BARDSTOWN - The North Bullitt Lady Eagles were the last of the Bullitt County varsity teams to take the court, but there was no rust visible on Thursday as the green and gold blasted Bardstown 76-24.

  • Lady Chargers bolt out of the gate to win

     MOUNT WASHINGTON - A year ago, the Bullitt East Lady Chargers lost the season-opening game to Presentation, only once got back over the .500 mark but were still one of the best teams in the Sixth Region.
