  • Incumbent Abell to fend off primary challenge

         SHEPHERDSVILLE - The current Bullitt County Circuit Clerk survived the first hurdle in his quest for another six-year term.

         Layne Abell got past Rani Davis in the Democratic primary Tuesday by a count of 1,832 to 1,294. He will now face Republican Paulita Keith in the fall general election.

  • ROADWORK: Week of May 21

    The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 5 reports the following roadwork scheduled for the week of May 21:

    Bullitt County:

    KY 2553 (Old Preston Highway North):  The roadway will be closed between KY 61 and KY 1116 (mile point 0.0 and 0.3) to allow for pipe replacement.  This roadway is scheduled for closure on Saturday, May 19th from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

    Jefferson County:

  • Bullitt County High School Class of 2012

    The second graduation class of Bullitt County High School was held May 17 at the Paroquet Springs Conference Center in Shepherdsville. 

    Students from Bullitt Central, Bullitt East and North Bullitt High Schools earned diplomas.

  • Troutman repeats in discus; Okruch 2nd

     LOUISVILLE - Trevor Troutman's domination of the discus this spring came to its culmination on Friday as the Bullitt East senior won his second straight Class AA state discus title with a throw of 177-09.
     Troutman did not lose to another thrower in Kentucky this season and his winning throw on Friday was 15-feet further than anyone else, in any of the three classes, hurled the discus in the state this spring.

  • Hodge, Atkins lead strong day for NB

     LOUISVILLE - Getting third place finishes from seniors Cody Hodge and Andrew Atkins, the North Bullitt boys' track team recorded a top ten finish on Friday in the Class AA Kentucky State Track and Field Championships at the University of Louisville.
     North Bullitt finished with 22 points.
     "We had a really good day," North Bullitt head coach Mike Whitfill said. "I was thrilled."

  • Duvall's perfect run wins high hurdles

     LOUISVILLE - The perfect race at just the right time.
     That is what Bullitt East senior Jacob Duvall turned in Friday in the Class AA Kentucky State Track and Field Championships as he blazed down the track in 14.55 seconds to win the boys' 110-meter high hurdles.
     The victory erased some frustration from a year ago for Duvall who had finished second in his favorite event after coming into the race with the top seed. This season, Duvall was only seeded fourth after winning the regional meet ten days earlier with a time of 15.23.
