  • Shepherdsville sewer rates increased

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - While it is not what most people in the audience may have wanted, Shepherdsville sewer customers will receive a bit of a break from the rate increase proposed on Monday night.

  • 10th event will be biggest Blast of them all

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - Fireworks and ice cream cones, though usually centerpieces for the annual Bullitt Blast Independence Day celebration, may be out-shined this year by the county’s newest celebrity. 

  • Vegas Lou’s BBQ ready to please diners in LJ

     LEBANON JUNCTION - A steaming plate of sweet, tangy ribs won’t be hard to imagine when the doors of Vegas Lou’s BBQ open. Owner Jeremy Belcher’s eager face and the restaurant’s warm, red walls make for an inviting atmosphere and a craving for some homemade barbecue. 

  • Bullitt Blast will be another great day

     The biggest one-day event in Bullitt County will return for its 10th occasion.

  • Thanks for pool work

     On behalf of the Bullitt County Family YMCA staff and Board of Directors, as well as the Bullitt County Chamber of Commerce, I’d like to say thanks to individuals and companies who made the wonderful work conducted at the swimming pool beside Bullitt Central High School possible.

  • BC Baseball Camp

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - The first annual Bullitt Central Cougar Baseball Camp proved to be a success last week as 40 young players learned more about the game under the tutelage of head coach G.J. Moore and his coaches and players. 

    The only negative during the four-day camp was that rain during the week forced the players to change from cleats to tennis shoes as they moved inside the Bullitt Central gym for two days.

  • UPDATE: Train derails in Brooks

     UPDATE (07/01, 5 p.m.): Emergency officials announced that Highway 1020 should be reopened to traffic on Friday afternoon.

    The section of track involved in Thursday's derailment would again be open to train traffic as of Friday evening.

    Huber Station Rd., along the east side of the tracks, remains closed to thru traffic.

    All damaged rail cars were removed from the tracks and from Highway 1020. Crews with CSX, R. J. Corman and Kentucky Transportation Cabinet continued working on Friday to repair damages.

  • No budget yet; Shepherdsville council's last try tonight

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - With only four of the six councilmembers available, Shepherdsville officials delayed any action on a proposed sewer rate hike and the 2011-12 budget on Wednesday night.
