ST. LOUIS - A true champion is one who wants to get up immediately after being knocked down, one who keeps believing.
Within 24 hours of her second double-lung transplant surgery, Bullitt County native Christena Gabehart Jones was ready to get up.
A four-hour procedure took place Sunday afternoon at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. when a donor set of lungs became available.
Deb Gabehart, Christena's mother, said the lungs arrived from Oklahoma around 2 p.m. CST. The surgery was completed by 6:30.
