    7:00 - ATV & Motorcycle Dirt Drag presented by B&M Motorsports. Entry fee $10 with 80 per cent payback.

    The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Highway District 5 reports the following roadwork scheduled in Bullitt County for the week of June 7:


    Bullitt County:

    KY 1494 (Beech Grove Road): Roadway is closed at the bridge over Long Lick Creek (mile point 5.5) for bridge replacement. Motorists should detour the area via KY 61.

  • BULLITT COUNTY FAIR: Winchell wins pageant

        Dana Winchell was selected as the 2010 Miss Bullitt County Fair Monday night.

        Winchell, 21, is the daughter of Melissa and Todd Winchell.

        She currently attends Indiana University Southeast in New Albany.

  • Toppers on Tour stops in Shepherdsville

        SHEPHERDSVILLE - Western Kentucky University’s Toppers on Tour will make a stop in Bullitt County on Monday, June 14.

        WKU fans are invited to come out to Heritage Hills Golf Club off Cedar Grove Road at 6:30 p.m. to meet head coaches and athletic department personnel.

  • BE girls finish with six points at regional tennis

        FRANKFORT - The Girls’ Eighth Region Tennis Tournament was a little shorter than Bullitt East head coach Britney Orme and top singles player Makaela Knight had hoped.

        Knight, who had advanced to the Kentucky State Tennis Tournament last season and had gone undefeated against Eighth Region foes this season was shocked in the event’s quarter-finals when she lost 6-4, 6-4 to Anderson County’s Kristen Hamrick, a player she had beaten easily during the regular season. Hamrick came into the event with the number seven-seed.

  • Family escapes major injury as car drives in, out of house

        HILLVIEW - Brenda Shaw thought a tree had fallen through her home.

        But it turned out to be a car that drove through the rental property at the corner of Hillview Boulevard and Brookley Drive.

        Miraculously, only one injury was reported despite the car driving right through one bedroom.

  • Bus crash injures driver; No students involved

        CEDAR GROVE - A Bullitt County Public Schools bus driver was seriously injured after a school bus left the roadway Wednesday afternoon.

        No students were aboard the bus at the time of the incident, according to Bullitt County Public Schools Transportation Director Jeff Scott.

        Euteva Kessinger was the driver of Bus 0843. She was headed westbound along Highway 480 around 5 p.m. when the bus left the roadway at the 5600 block.
