The Kentucky State Police will increase enforcement efforts over the Fourth of July holiday weekend throughout the Commonwealth.
KSP is making an effort to reduce highway fatalities. A "zero-tolerance" policy will target impaired drivers.
During the official Fourth of July four-day holiday period in 2010, 1,237 crashes in Kentucky, resulting in seven fatalities.
Of those accidents, sixty-six of were alcohol-related, resulting 52 injuries and one fatality.
