     MOUNT WASHINGTON - An Alabama man was arrested in Mount Washington Sunday, Jan. 8, after allegedly stabbing his aunt to death in Tuscaloosa, Ala. three days earlier.

  • Local resident competing for Miss Kentucky USA

     Dana Winchell, 22, of Bullitt County will compete for the title of Miss Kentucky USA 2012 on Jan. 21-22 at the historic Van Meter Hall on the campus of Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green.

    Winchell was Miss Bullitt County 2010. She is the daughter of Todd and Melissa Winchell.

    She currently attends Indiana University Southeast where she is majoring in Science Secondary Education with a minor in History.

  • Sunday crash turns fatal in MW

    MOUNT WASHINGTON – A collision at Old Bardstown and Landis Lane claimed the life of a 73-year-old Mount Washington man Sunday afternoon.

    Lt. Neil Bowen of the Pioneer Village Police Department, who is part of the county’s reconstruction team of state and local law enforcement agencies, said he happened to be in the area when he responded to the crash around 3:30 p.m.

        SHEPHERDSVILLE - The Bullitt Central bowling program picked up its first major title in the first season as a sponsored sport by the Kentucky High School Athletic Association when the Cougars grabbed the big trophy at the Pleasure Ridge Park Invitational.

  • Lady Cougars run into big trouble on the road

        SHEPHERDSVILLE - The Bullitt Central Lady Cougars hit the road on Tuesday and the road hit back as the maroon and gray had nothing in the second half for Jeffersontown in a 63-42 defeat.
        Bullitt Central stayed close early against a quick and athletic squad. The Louisville Lady Chargers had a 14-9 advantage after one quarter and the Lady Cougars were still within 25-21 at halftime before the wheels fell off in the second half.
