  • Going Backwards

If you live in Southeast Bullitt County or upper Cedar Grove road area you may be paying a good portion of your property tax bill to Southeast Bullitt Fire District.

  • Thanks to Frisch's

We the Shepherdsville High School Class of 1966 wants to thank the Frisch’s Restaurant in Shepherdsville for letting us have our class meetings there.

There would be from 12-15 people at the meetings each time we met. Also we want to thank the waiters for their help.

Also we want to thank the Pioneer News for putting the meetings in the paper.

God Bless you at Frisch’s and the Pioneer News.

    Mrs. Barbara Webb

  • Prostate Cancer Month

I want to thank the Bullitt County Fiscal Court for proclaiming September as Bullitt County Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. The proclamation is important because, as estimated by The National Cancer Institute, 26,000 men will die in 2016 from prostate cancer and nearly 200,000 new cases will be diagnosed this year. One in seven men will have prostate cancer sometime in their lives.

  • Accolades to B&B

On May 27th 2016 my brother was released from the hospital after spending 52 days, 38 of those in ICU. We started at 11:00 AM getting him released.

My sister-in-law called about 5:30 PM to see how late they were open and they said 6:00, but they told her they would wait for the prescription to be sent to them

  • CASA says thanks

The CASA Program for Bullitt County would like offer a huge “thank you” to Fort Knox Federal Credit Union and Sunrise Children’s Services for their tremendous support in being our Presenting Sponsors for the CASA Golf Scramble.

Also, we were honored to have Country Corner Nursery and Greenhouse as our Beverage Cart Sponsor.  Many thanks to all of our hole sponsors, golfers, door prize donors and volunteers who came out and helped make this event a success.

  • Thanks to EMS, Simon

Recently I had need of Bullitt County EMS over the weekend. I just wanted to commend them for excellent sservice they provided and thank the Mount Washington Fire Department for their prompt response.

Also I would like to thank the Simon Family for everything they have done for our county over the years. It would be impossible to list all of the contributions they have made to build a better Bullitt County.

  • Scottish Rite Club thanks

On Tuesday, May 10, at the Paroquet Spring Conference Centre, the Bullitt County Scottish Rite Club held its 29th annual Student Recognition Program.

They recognized 66 academically challenged students from the Bullitt County Middle and High Schools with a plaque, a proclamation from the Bullitt County Judge Election, and a $25 gift card.

Three graduating seniors received a $3,000 scholarship.

This could not have been possible without the personal and business support and sponsors of our community.

  • Dear 2016 graduates

Just a few words of encouragement as you embark upon the next chapter of you.  This is such an exciting time in your life!

Some of you will leave home for college, some will move out on your own. And some will be smart and stay home a little longer!

No matter what you do on your journey to become you, don’t forget to remember your childhood innocence and sense of wonder!

  • Thanks from Roby

We want to give a special thanks to all the businesses that donated to the Roby Elementary Spring Auction:

  • Thank you, Mr. Schultz

Fifteen years ago, educator Greg Schultz interviewed for the principalship at North Bullitt High School.

The search committee, which had passed on the first group of candidates, some fairly impressive, were impressed from the start by Mr. Schultz.

The committee made the decision to hire him because of the energy he brought to the interview.

He has contributed to the shaping of Bullitt County minds ever since.
