  • Letter to Editor

    Dear Editor,

Nearly 240 years ago, our founding fathers declared our national independence from Great Britain. This 4th of July, let's declare our independence from the meat industry.

More than 60 percent of U.S. agricultural subsidies pay for meat, dairy, and egg production. Fresh fruit and vegetable farmers receive less than one percent of the total. It's time to declare our independence by stopping these subsidies.

  • Thanks for Clean Up assistance

Bullitt Fiscal Court would like to thank the following for their assistance in making the annual Bullitt County Clean Up Days a huge success:

    Bullitt County Detention Center

    Bullitt County Conservation

    Bullitt Septic Service

    Bullitt County Board of Education

    Nichols Fire Department

    Bullitt County Supermarket

    Larry Hatfield, Solid Waste Coordinator

  • THANKS from CASA

The CASA Program of Bullitt County recently held its annual golf scramble.

  • Thanks to the volunteers

The members of VFW Post 5710 and Ladies Auxiliary in Shepherdsville would like to thank the Blue Lick Youth Baseball team members and others who helped place 2,400 American flags on the graves of veterans. The flags were placed on the gravesites at Highland Memory Gardens in Mount Washington in honor of Memorial Day.

  • Christopher Jones’ family thanks Hebron Middle

The family of Christopher Jones would like to thank the Hebron Middle School students and teachers for the outpouring of love, respect and sympathy exhibited after Christopher’s death.

We were awed, amazed and astounded by all of the visitors to the funeral home, the flowers, the balloons released, the stories, the cards, the chimes, the bench, the throw, the scrolls and kind words.

The money collected by Christopher’s classmates will be used to purchase a tree and memorial plaque for his gravesite.

  • Need new ideas

Thank you for your coverage of the statewide candidates meeting.

The overview provided by The Pioneer News was  helpful to those of use who could not attend.

The candidates all sounded as if they rode in together on the same tired horse and I am less sorry I missed it.

Their messages echoed the great Quincy Adams Flagstaff (Groucho Marx) in the movie Horsefeathers…

“I don’t care what they have to say

it makes no difference any way

    Whatever it is

    I’m against it.

  • Thanks from Roby PTA

The Roby Elementary PTA would like to thank the following businesses for their generous donations for the Spring Auction:

  • Thank you to everyone

Our family would like to thank each and every one of you personally but fortunately with all the support from the community, I just don’t think it’s possible!

We can’t express our gratitude for the overwhelming support our community has shown for Shawn.

  • Help right on target

On behalf of the North Bullitt Archery Team, I would like to express my gratitude for the community’s support of the Eagle Fest, which was held on Saturday, March 14, at St. Aloysius gym.

At the event, we had a date auction, a silent auction and live entertainment by Rock-Ola. Our goal was to raise $1,600 to purchase 10 new targets for the archers to use during practice.

  • Thank you to all

Thank you does not cover the way we feel about the outpouring of love for Lawrence.

To all friends and neighbors, we thank you. Special thanks to Donnie Snellen, Mike Spurlock and Kenny Holder. They’re like our brothers.

All of Lawrence’s buddies (there are too many to list), we thank you.

We give much appreciation to Mark Williams, the Shepherdsville Police Department, the Hillview Police Department, Pioneer Village and the mayor. Special thanks to Bro. George Blevins, Bro. Jimmy and Martha, and Bro. Tim; we love you all.
