• Thanks from HOPE

HOPE would like to take this opportunity to thank the following for their help and support:

  • Thanks for support

On behalf of the Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office, we would like to say “thank you” to all who supported the DARE chili supper.

You may have made a donation to the raffle or given a monetary donation or just came and ate.

    Your generosity was greatly appreciated.

We would also like to thank First Baptist Church of Shepherdsville for the use of their fellowship hall; the Bullitt County Woman’s Club; and employees of the Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office.

  • Several need to go

While mayor Ellis is waiting to resign, I would also like to request the resignation of Gloria Taft and Dana James.

Their place on the council is detrimental to the city and its citizens. And, by the way, I hear McDonalds is hiring.

Surely they could do a good job there. I know a lot of people who would be glad to give them references.

  • Prostate Awareness Month

September was prostate cancer awareness month, and for a man being aware of prostate cancer means knowing your PSA level.

  • The other side of history
  • Thanks Linda for road project

I want to acknowledge and personally thank Linda Belcher for her positive actions in making sure the section of road on North Preston Highway between John Harper and Bells Mill Roa can/will be repaired and reopened as quickly as possible.

I am confident that without her efforts/attention the process for this to occur could have potentially never occurred.

Thanks Linda and keep working for our county as I know you will. I am sure I speak, too, for the many businesses located in the area.

  • Know your history

I’d like to share my experience from July 18, 2015.

  • Letter to Editor

    Dear Editor,

Nearly 240 years ago, our founding fathers declared our national independence from Great Britain. This 4th of July, let's declare our independence from the meat industry.

More than 60 percent of U.S. agricultural subsidies pay for meat, dairy, and egg production. Fresh fruit and vegetable farmers receive less than one percent of the total. It's time to declare our independence by stopping these subsidies.

  • Thanks for Clean Up assistance
