     I want to describe and share an experience we encountered in Mount Washington as a family and community members.

    As a parent, a human being, a professional social worker, and as a certified prevention specialist I know how important it is to advocate for ourselves and for others.  I want our two fraternal twin boys to know that their mom thought enough of them, and her family, and herself to “make the time” to write this letter to the newspaper.

  • Think before you zone

     The Shepherdsville City Council will be considering rezoning the fields at the junction of Highways 245 and 61 such that a huge warehouse can be built.

    This is a mostly residential area. Is this what you want? Please write the Shepherdsville City Council that your voice may be heard.

    Here is my letter (sent to each councilmember individually):

    I am writing to ask you to consider these points when making a decision about zoning the property at 245 and 61 heavy industrial and to allow a 2million square foot warehouse.

     Hi, my name is Clayton Luttrell. I go to DePaul School and I am a fourth grader. I am a Webelos I Cub Scout with Pack 47.   • Seniors deserve higher priority

     Kentucky’s Department of Aging and Independent Living provides meals on wheels and in home assistance to low income seniors who need help with activities of daily living. These services help seniors remain at home for 1/6 the cost Medicaid will pay for Nursing Home care. Most seniors would rather stay at home close to friends and family.

     Friends, I would like to thank you for the opportunity to serve the good people of Bullitt County. Every ten years, it is our Constitutional duty to realign voting districts according to the populations confirmed by the census. This requires the General Assembly to establish the “one man, one vote” rule.
