  • Thanks to the community

It is with unspeakable emotion and tears of joy shed in gratitude that my family and I offer our sincerest thanks to the community for helping to make the Prescott Lee Goodman Extreme Park a dream come true.

  • We need to vote for Belcher

  • Vote for Layne Abell

Each year Teamsters Local Union No. 89 endorses candidates for election. The decision to support a candidate is not an easy task or taken lightly. Each teamster endorsed candidate must possess a great deal of integrity and character, while establishing a proven record for supporting labor and working families.

  • Community is wonderful

On Saturday, Sept. 8, a community of people gathered in Mount Washington to help a young lady many of them had never met.

  • Thanks for fund-raiser help

“Children in Flight” Justin Brandon Mahaffey Scholarship would like to thank the following for their support in our golf fundraiser for education that was held Saturday, September 15, 2012. Children in Flight gave our yearly scholarships to seniors attending Bullitt Central High School. We raised $3,900 at our golf fundraiser which will go towards scholarships in memory of Justin Brandon Mahaffey. Thank you to all who support us for a better education.

  • Support emergency services

Bullitt County’s Emergency Services Department is having difficulty retaining employees even though the county is experiencing the same unemployment problems facing the rest of the country.

Mr. Phillips, the EMS director, approaches fiscal court at almost every meeting stating the need to replace a dispatcher, EMT or paramedic. The EMS has been dealing with this problem for some time. The reason that most leave is the low pay scale. They can earn 20% to 30% more working for a neighboring county or a private employer.

  • In with the new

     In with the new

Your cartoonist should be told that 470 is more than 12.

Unfortunately going to cancel meeting is not done by most citizens. They are unaware of what the city is doing. I suggest they make a habit of attending to see what’s going on.

Lately I have been glad to see more people becoming involved to make our city become one of the best.

Out with the old in with the new.

    Ted Judd

  • Vote for Keith

On Tuesday, Nov. 6, the citizens of Bullitt County will elect their Circuit Clerk.

I am pleased to has served the community for decades. Her father, Paul Keith, has been a barber at Keith’s Barber Shop in Shepherdsville for 54 years and her mother, Rhonda Keith, was Bullitt County Property Valuation Administrator for 14 years. Paulita brings this history, along with a good business background into public service.

  • Vote for Portman

Faith Scott Portman is a clear choice to be re-elected to the Shepherdsville City Council. She has been our voice, standing up for issues that effect our daily lives.

She stands for our core values. She voted against the high sewer rate increase, when other council members pushed it through.

    We got to have Faith.

    Herman and Joan French Schlageter

  • Re-elect Linda Belcher

I totally agree with others that Linda Belcher is the best choice for state representative for Bullitt County.
