    Over the years it has happened on the local, state and federal level.

    People swear to the voters that they aren’t politicians. They are just common folk wanting to serve their constituents.

    Then reality hits. They are now in the world of politics.

    Bullitt County’s drug task force has been a shining star for the past nine years. While at times it may seem to TV viewers that Bullitt County only has a bunch of criminals, the task force has done a wonderful job.

        LEXINGTON, Ky. - As any scout can tell you, “Be Prepared” is an excellent motto. With the storms and flooding of early May still fresh in people’s minds, now is a good time for you and your family to prepare for the next disaster-whatever it may be.

        There are three important steps to personal preparedness:

     

    1.      Get a kit.

    2.      Make a plan.

    3.      Be informed.

        FRANKFORT – For thousands of children attending school, the biggest challenge of the day may not be tied to the classroom, but to their health.                   

  • BBB ALERT: Beware of amazon.com fraudulent e-mail

    BBB is warning online shoppers about a fraudulent e-mail that appears to be from Amazon.com. Scam artists are sending out the e-mails that state “thanks for your order.” The e-mail has an order number on it, a total price, and a link to click on to check out your order.

  • Traveling tips to help environment

        Summer time signals the start of the vacation season.

        Whether you are planning a day trip, a weekend getaway or a week-long vacation, you can travel “green” by following some simple environmentally friendly traveling tips.

    1.     Before you go, unplug unnecessary appliances such as TVs, DVD players, coffee pots and microwaves.  These items use energy even when they are turned off.  Adjust your thermostat and water heater setting to conserve energy.

        Thanks should go to Jim Boswell and the crew he assembled over the past 19 years with the Bullitt County Adult and Community Education program.

        Boswell retired last Wednesday and the program has kind of been divided up among various agencies. The Bullitt County Public School System is gearing its energies in K-12 and Jefferson Community and Technical College will take over the adult education phase of the program.
