  • Virginia Beach great destination

Each summer we try to do a big road trip to some place new.
This summer we chose Virginia Beach. Virginia Beach is as good as it gets without going to the West Coast and it’s a lot closer (only about 10.5 hrs).

  • CASA says thanks

The CASA Program for Bullitt County would like offer a huge “thank you” to Fort Knox Federal Credit Union and Sunrise Children’s Services for their tremendous support in being our Presenting Sponsors for the CASA Golf Scramble.

Also, we were honored to have Country Corner Nursery and Greenhouse as our Beverage Cart Sponsor.  Many thanks to all of our hole sponsors, golfers, door prize donors and volunteers who came out and helped make this event a success.

  • Designate a sober driver this Fourth of July

FRANKFORT – The Fourth of July is a favorite American holiday filled with picnics, parties, parades and more. However, celebrating can quickly turn to tragedy when people choose to drive after drinking.  The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is urging everyone to plan ahead this Independence Day and designate a sober driver.

  • Year makes big difference for Davis, board

What a difference a year makes.

After getting a few tough scores last year in his evaluation from school board members, superintendent Keith Davis got top grades this time around.

There were glowing comments from board chairperson Debby Atherton and Davis was also very pleased with the marks.

No one will agree with anyone in leadership 100 percent of the time. Even with the most popular of leaders, there will always be someone who is not pleased with the status quo.

  • Fourth of July

There will be plenty of campaign rhetoric from our presumptive candidates for President this holiday season.

But overlooking the political talk, it is a time in America were we should salute the freedoms that we have.

We continue to see the world change. It sometimes seems to change on a daily basis.

As we enjoy hour holiday weekend, we should all take a moment to remember those who fought for our freedoms.
