Car runs into pharmacy: no injuries

 MOUNT WASHINGTON-- A woman ran her car into the side of Rite Aid on North Bardstown Road this afternoon.

No injuries have been reported at this time.

The Mount Washington Fire and Police Departments responded to the scene.

The police department is conducting an investigation of the accident.

AARP, community helps food pantry

The Mount Washington AARP Chapter solicited donations on June 7-8 at the Valu Market. The collections were to benefit the Mount Washington Community Ministries food pantry. Cash donations of $252.58 were just part of the story as many pounds of food was also donated, with an estimated value of $2,200, which is $200 more than the food drive in March.

Three “Museum Row” attractions offer free admission to military families through Labor Day

 Three of Louisville’s “Museum Row on Main” attractions are participating in Blue Star Museums, a collaboration between the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense and more than 1,500 museums across America to offer free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families now through Labor Day 2013.

VFW, Auxiliary install officers

 The Bullitt County Memorial VFW Post 5710 recently elected officers for the 2013-14 year.

Danny Morrison will again be the commander, with Joe McIntosh serving as senior vice and Chris Bogacki as junior vice. Mike Bishop will be quartermaster with Dave Berry as chaplain and Buddy Waters as a three-year trustee. Mark Hall is the surgeon and David Dunford will be judge advocate.
