LEBANON JUNCTION -- A quick decision by Lebanon Junction Butch Sweat caused a riff with some council members.
Due to the recent retirement of police chief Donnie Tinnell, Sweat appointed Larry Coy as the acting chief.
Coy has more than 30 years of police experience, including in Jefferson County and the Air Force. He also volunteered as a special deputy at the Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office and was then assistant chief deputy under Tinnell.
“I told Butch I would do it for awhile,” he said.
