2013 BULLITT COUNTY FAIR

 The 2013 Bullitt County Fair takes place June 17-22 at the intersection of Hwy. 245 and I-65. Rides, live entertainment and plenty of food available. Admission is $10 (includes all rides and shows), $5 for active military and over age 62. Parking is FREE. For more information go to www.thebullittcountyfair.com.

Bacher figures out way to help...

 HILLVIEW - Littering is a problem thatís all too common and 18-year-old North Bullitt High School graduate James Bacher saw a need to fix it.

“Every time I walked through my neighborhood or rode through the city, I would see trash on the ground,” he said.

Some people would make an effort to pick up trash, but Bacher said they would have to carry it home to dispose of it.

Bacher used what he saw as inspiration for his Eagle Scout project, creating and installing 27 trash cans throughout Hillview and Pioneer Village.

 HILLVIEW - The Bullitt County Sanitation District hopes to upgrade its system by replacing two old plants with a one brand new facility.

Willis, Troutman will be key...

 LOUISVILLE – Bullitt County will be well represented this weekend as the Kentucky-Indiana All-Star Classic plays two games in the annual summer series between the two basketball crazed states.

Bullitt East seniors Derek Willis and Rusty Troutman will both be looked at to play key roles in the boys’ games for head coach Allen Feldhaus Jr.’s team.

Kentucky and Indiana will clash on Friday night at Freedom Hall in Louisville. The girls’ game will start at 5:30 p.m. with the boys’ contest to follow at around 7:30 p.m.

 LOUISVILLE – A rare game where the Bullitt East Chargers struggled to find any offense caught up with the red and gold on Tuesday in the semi-finals of the Sixth Region Baseball Tournament at Jim Patterson Stadium on the University of Louisville campus.

     For the second year in a row, it was Pleasure Ridge Park High School that got the best of the Chargers, winning 5-1 after breaking the game open in the bottom of the fifth inning with four runs on four hits.

 While most high school teens might be spending their first week of summer sleeping-in or plopped down in front of the TV, some teens from the youth group from First Presbeyterian Church in Lake Forest, Ill., chose to do something different—service.
