 Kentucky’s 2013 legislative session ended on Tuesday, March 26, and Frankfort was unsuccessful in passing legislation to make public places in Kentucky smoke free. In a state that leads the nation in lung cancer deaths and smoking rates, it is tragic that the General Assembly lacks the political will to protect its citizens from toxic second-hand smoke. All Kentuckians will pay the price for this missed opportunity to reduce smoking’s tremendous health and economic burden on the state.

LEXINGTON – Playing in the Kentucky State Tennis Championships for the second straight year, the Bullitt East doubles team of senior Reese Milburn and junior Hunter Norris won a match before falling to the fourth-seeded team in the event.
    The first round win was the first victory for a Bullitt County boys’ entry in the state finals since 1998.

 I had a gas station back in 1967. That is when you had to pump gas for your customers. You had to do this in bad weather out in rain or snow or whatever the weather might be. I did some mechanic work, changed oil, sold tires, the usual thing you do to run the business. It is hard to find a good hardworking person to help you unless you are there with them all of the time.

SHEPHERDSVILLE – With track and tennis finished for the season, focus this week will switch to the diamonds as both baseball and softball open post-season play with district action starting on Monday.
    In fact, five of the six Bullitt County squads playing this week will be in action on Monday. The lone holdout is the Bullitt East softball squad as they will not play until Tuesday.
