 The Bullitt Central High School Class of 1972 held its 40-year Class Reunion Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Paroquet Springs Conference Centre in Shepherdsville.

 MOUNT WASHINGTON - Some might call it inspirational, others might call it odd. 

Whatever you call it, most will agree it's worth a double take.

In the 32 years Bob and Sharon Brumett have resided on Bethel Church Road, the nativity scene in their front yard has stopped more than a few passersby during the Christmas season.

"We've had lots of people stop to see it," said Sharon Brumett. "Some people told us they drive by our house every year around Christmas just to see it."

 The Bullitt County Farm Bureau received the 2012 Gold Star Award of Excellence for its Young Farm Program.

Erica Robards, Young Farmer chair for Bullitt County Farm Bureau, was joined by Bullitt County president George Henderman in accepting the honor for its active participation in leadership development programs, state competitions and educational or promotional incentives.

The Bullitt County Farm Bureau also received the 2012 Gold Star Award of Excellence for its women’s program.

 MOUNT WASHINGTON - As robotics engineering has become increasingly popular among middle and high school students nationwide, Mount Washington finds itself playing host to one of the biggest robotics tournaments in Kentucky. 

 It was a musical night for the students at Roby Elementary.

The various classes served as the opening act for Santa Claus, who was there on Friday evening to greet the youngsters of all ages.

Before Saint Nick began talking with the kids, students at Roby provided music of the holiday season. The audience was even encouraged to sing along during some of the holiday favorites.

After the music, Santa got the gift ideas and crafts were done in the cafeteria. Vendors sold various holiday gifts items.

 SHEPHERDSVILLE - The Bullitt County Public Library System is hosting a new kind of petting zoo.

The E-Reader Petting Zoo doesn't involve animals; it is an opportunity for a hands-on technology experience involving newer products.

The library system adopted the idea as a way to allow the public an experience of deciding which "E-Reader" technologies they might prefer to use for reading and other electronic purposes.

 Having learned about the Pilgrims who came to America escaping religious persecution, the American Indians who taught them how to survive when they first arrived and the history of Thanksgiving, Mount Washington Elementary kindergartners recently had a feast of their own.

 Jaylen Wheatley and Aly Sherrard were among the 20 students and their families who recently discovered how fun math could be during Mount Washington Elementary School’s Family Math Night.

During the after school event students played fun math games with their parents and parents took away some neat ways to practice math skills at home.
