  • Dolphins end perfect LB season by beating Colts 18-7
     SHEPHERDSVILLE – Capping off a perfect season, the Pleasant Grove Dolphins controlled the time of possession on Saturday and beat the Mount Washington Colts 18-7 for the championship in the Little Bullitt’s Division of the Greater Bullitt County Youth Football League. Pleasant Grove controlled the time of possession, scoring in the final ten seconds of the first half to take a 12-7 lead into the break. The Dolphins then scored on the first of just two possessions they had in the second half to secure the win.
  • Bengals avenge regular season loss to beat PG for PeeWee title
     SHEPHERDSVILLE – The Old Mill Bengals avenged a long losing streak to their Mount Washington rivals on Saturday as they turned the tables on a regular season loss and beat the Pleasant Grove Dolphins 27-18 for the PeeWee Division title in the Greater Bullitt County Youth Football League. The two teams came into the event with the top two seeds. Pleasant Grove was the top team after going through the regular season without a loss while the Bengals were the second-seeded squad.
  • Title game truly Golden for undefeated East
     SHEPHERDSVILLE  — Coming into the championship game for the A Division of the Greater Bullitt County Youth Football League, veteran head coach Joe Sohm knew it would take a perfect game to defeat the unbeaten East Gold. Sohm was right as the East Gold rolled to a 30-6 victory in the finale of championship Saturday. On its first drive, the Gold marched 79 yards in 11 plays, taking over six minutes off the clock.
  • Vikings prove inches do matter in winning B title
     SHEPHERDSVILLE — Who says a game can’t be determined by inches? Depending on which sideline you may have been rooting for on Saturday, the B division championship of the Greater Bullitt County Youth Football League may go down as one of the best battles of all time. The Cedar Grove Vikings scored on the opening kickoff and its defense had to stop the Pleasant Grove Dolphins on an extra point to secure the 7-6 victory. In between  the two scores, the defenses reigned supreme.

  • Local contingent runs in KTCCCA Meet of Champions
     LEXINGTON – In the biggest cross-country meet of the year in Kentucky, a number of young Bullitt County runners took part in the Kentucky Track and Cross-Country Coaches Association Meet of Champions on Oct. 21 at Masterson Station Park in Lexington. Some of the races had in excess of 400 runners. This is not a Kentucky High School Athletic Association event, but it does serve as what is considered the middle school state championships.
  • Eastside sweeps both girls’ middle school hoops titles
      ZONETON – The Eastside Lady Eagles made it look easy – twice – in winning both the ‘A’ (eighth-grade) and ‘B’ (sixth and seventh-grade) titles in the Girls’ Bullitt County Middle School Tournament held last week at Zoneton Middle School. In both championship games Eastside squared off with Bernheim and by the middle of the second half of both title games the margin had grown to margins big enough (25 points) to have the games finish with a running clock.
