  • Old Mill has too much firepower in battle of cats
SHEPHERDSVILLE -- The Lebanon Junction Jaguars had done something that’s difficult to do -- be a No. 5 seed who earns its way to the championship game. But that happened as the Jaguars would face the Old Mill Bengals in the championship game of the B division for the Greater Bullitt Youth Football League on Saturday. The dream season ended as the Bengals had too much offense and defense as Old Mill recorded a 39-0 victory. Coach Brandon Egan’s team scored on its opening possession and never looked back.

  • Cooler temps heat up fall bass fishing
FRANKFORT – The orange tint in the tops of mature trees portend what is coming our way. Cool nights with crisp, gorgeous days signal not only some of the best days of the year in Kentucky, but also the beginning of the fall reservoir fishing season for largemouth bass. September is typically the driest month of the year and the water in many lakes becomes air-clear. The clear water combined with the lingering summer thermal stratification of the lake makes predator fish lethargic and skittish. This leads to tough fishing.
