     SHEPHERDSVILLE – Once again this season The Pioneer News will run the results from the Greater Bullitt County Youth Football League in each Wednesday edition during the season.   • Lady Generals repeat ‘A’ title
     MOUNT WASHINGTON – With the score tied at 29-29 with just over four minutes remaining in the championship game of the Girls’ Bullitt County Middle School Basketball Tournament, it looked like the hottest rivalry in the county would go down to the wire. However, hitting some big free throws, the Mount Washington Lady Generals pulled away down the stretch and beat the Eastside Lady Eagles 39-30 in the ‘A’ Division final.
  • Eastside rolls to ‘B’ championship
     MOUNT WASHINGTON -- Pulling away with a 31-8 surge in the two middle quarters, the Eastside Lady Eagles showed they are the top ‘B’ team in Bullitt County this season as they defeated arch-rival Mount Washington 53-22 on Thursday in the Girls’ Bullitt County Middle School Basketball Tournament.

  • Paxton named Mount Washington Parks Director
        MOUNT WASHINGTON— They say that you always find your way back home.     For Mount Washington’s new community parks director Sheryl Paxton, that saying is couldn’t be truer.     Raised in Lexington, Paxton attended Asbury University with a Bachelor’s degree in exercise science and a minor in recreation. After graduation, she worked in retail for a couple years before going to Eastern Kentucky University for her master’s in physical education with an emphasis in sports administration.
