  • BE archery 10th at nationals

     MOUNT WASHINGTON – With a young team, Bullitt East archery coach Jason Waddle was looking for good things, and hoping for great things, when his team went into competition at the National Archery in the Schools Program National Tournament last month.

    Competing at the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center, Waddle got great as his team surpassed all expectations with a 10th place finish out of 164 schools.

  • East softball players in state All-Star contests

    SHEPHERDSVILLE – While the high school season did not go as well as they had hoped, particularly in the post-season, there has been some good news in the past week for Bullitt East softball players Morgan Raymer and Kelsey Gravens.

         This past weekend, the two seniors played in the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association’s East/West All-Star games at Ballard High School. The two were on the West team that represented the best senior players in the state from the teams in the First to the Eighth Region.

  • NB's George taking hoops dream to Spalding

     HEBRON ESTATES – For many, the college-recruiting trail can be a grind…at any level.

         It wasn’t that for North Bullitt senior Maria George. Even before the start of her senior season playing basketball for the Lady Eagles, George had decided that her next destination with the sport would be at Spalding University.

         While George may have known what route she was going to take, she didn’t let Spalding head coach Charlie Just know until late in the spring

  • BC’s Gossett taking volleyball skills to Union

     SHEPHERDSVILLE – For Bullitt Central senior Amy Gossett, college was always in her future.

    What Gossett wasn’t so sure about was continuing her volleyball career at the next level. When the senior finally decided that she wanted to play her sport in college, everything else quickly fell into place.

  • Craddock named to take over NB hoops

     HEBRON ESTATES – Going home or leaving home? 

    For new North Bullitt boys’ basketball coach Korey Craddock, the difference doesn’t really matter. The new coach is where he wants to be, back where he spent four seasons as an assistant coach.

    The return to North Bullitt was filled with familiar faces.

    “That is especially true in the senior group,” Craddock said after a practice with his new team last on Friday. “I’ve known some of them since they were eighth-graders in summer ball.

  • Dave Marion named girls' head coach at North

     HEBRON ESTATES – A familiar face in Bullitt County basketball circles has been named the new girls’ head coach at North Bullitt as Dave Marion will take over the reigns of the program after the resignation of Amber Courtney a month ago.

         Marion hit the ground running as the Lady Eagles will be jumping into summer action this week with a number of games on Monday, Friday and Saturday.
