  • Baseball, softball district play starts Monday at NB

     HEBRON ESTATES - After track and tennis had their time in the spotlight, the scene will shift to the post-season for baseball and softball starting Monday with the 24th District Tournaments at North Bullitt.
     Because there is no school on Tuesday because it is Election Day (Bullitt County students are already out of school, but not those in Jefferson County), North Bullitt athletic director Lee Barger has opted to load up on games that day with the idea of finishing both tournaments on Wednesday. Of course, rain could alter that schedule.

  • Cougars learn at state meet

     LOUISVILLE - The Kentucky State Championships are often the end of the story for area track teams.
     For Bullitt Central, the Class AAA Kentucky State Track and Field Championships at the University of Louisville were just the beginning of a major rebuilding job taken on by first-year head coach Mike Gossett as well as coach Thomas Martin who came out of retirement to help this season.

  • Preston takes top job at Franklin-Simpson

     MOUNT WASHINGTON - Former Bullitt East football coach Doug Preston, who remained a teacher at the school this school year, was named the new head football coach at Franklin-Simpson High School last week.

     HEBRON ESTATES - Timing is everything and for North Bullitt baseball coach Brian Wise, the timing of his team’s best games is perfect.

  • Chargers grab 7-5 win over Eagles

     MOUNT WASHINGTON – Down 3-1 after the top of the third inning, the Bullitt East Chargers rallied with six runs over the next three frames to beat district rival North Bullitt 7-5 on last Monday.

      SHEPHERDSVILLE – The overall record is going to end up being the best it has been in over a decade, but it has still been a frustrating spring for Bullitt Central baseball coach GJ Moore.

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - This will be a busy week for area athletes as both the state tournaments for tennis and track will be contested.

     SHEPHERDSVILLE – For the first time this season, the Bullitt Central softball team completed what it started over the weekend as they brought home the championship trophy from the Anderson County Invitational.

     MOUNT WASHINGTON – With the top seed for the upcoming 24th District on the line, the Bullitt East Lady Chargers made quick work of North Bullitt on Monday in the final game of the regular season used for seeding he post-season.

  • BC’s Renfrow wins Long Jump

     LOUISVILLE - Bullitt Central’s rebuilt and reconfigured track program had its first final test on Saturday at the Class AAA, Region 3 Track and Field Championships at Male High School.
