  • North's Heltsley headed to SEC for soccer

        HEBRON ESTATES - Never one to back down from a challenge on the soccer field, North Bullitt senior Halee Heltsley knew exactly what she wanted when it came to a college.
        In November of 2010, at a time when most of her classmates had not even started thinking seriously about college, Heltsley committed to the Mississippi State University. On Wednesday, the senior made it all official, signing a bevy of papers that made her a Lady Bulldog.

  • Chargers sweep past Fern Creek

        MOUNT WASHINGTON - The Bullitt East Chargers shook off their worst outing of the season, a 55-49 loss to Collins four nights earlier, and started a new winning streak on Tuesday as they jumped on top early and then played well enough in spurts to beat visiting Fern Creek 66-51.
        In the first game on Tuesday, the Lady Chargers made it look easy as they beat Fern Creek 66-38 in the first of two meetings between the new rivals over the next month.

     TAYLORSVILLE - Unlike a number of past Bullitt Central teams, this winter’s squad can win games when they don’t have a strong outing.

  • Lady Cougars pull away late

      TAYLORSVILLE - Getting 17 points from junior guard Selena Yunt, the Bullitt Central Lady Cougars won for a season-high fifth straight game on Friday, pulling away from an early deficit to beat Spencer County 60-47.

  • Honored at Bullitt East

    MOUNT WASHINGTON - Before a recent Bullitt East game against Iroquois, presentations were made for a pair of recent accomplishments in the boys' basketball program.

    Bullitt East Coaches were presented with rings for last season's trip to the final four of the Boys' Kentucky State Basketball Tournament.

    The rings were donated by Schmid Funeral Home.

    Also, Bullitt East head coach Troy Barr recently won his 200th game as the Chargers' head coach.

    He was presented a game ball by Bullitt East principal Debby Atherton.
