  • Southern pulls away late to beat North in district clash

          HEBRON ESTATES – A pair of back-to-back games within the 23rd District ended with a split and a probably third-place seed for North Bullitt in the upcoming tournament that the Eagles will host next week.

         On Tuesday, North Bullitt had numerous chances to stay close with Southern, but a two minute stretch at the of the third quarter pushed the Trojans forward and they won 50-35.

         A night later, the green and gold bounced back in fine form as they blew past Evangel 76-42.

  • Central girls take three to halt slide

          SHEPHERDSVILLE - It is coming together like a great plan.

         Overcoming some early-season detours, the Bullitt Central Lady Cougars are back on track.

         On Tuesday, the Lady Cougars used a balanced attack to defeat an athletic Moore Mustang squad 48-37 in a district battle.

         Nine players hit the scoring column for coach     Kyle Roach. More importantly, everyone who stepped on the court contributed.

  • Chargers take control of district, region

          MOUNT WASHINGTON – A pair of impressive victories last week put the Bullitt East Chargers just where they want to be entering post-season play next week – as the team to beat.

         At the regional level, Bullitt East remained undefeated against Sixth Region foes this winter as they blew past Fairdale, the state’s eighth-ranked team, 76-63.

  • BC wins tie-breaker to take county mat crown

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - Bullitt Central and Bullitt East were tied at 42-42 after wrestling through 14 tough matches on Wednesday.

    It went to the tie-breaker which Bullitt Central won, giving the Cougars the county title. 

    The two teams had wrestled in the regional duals just a few weeks earlier with Bullitt East winning in that meeting. 

    This was the final varsity match of the season for all three Bullitt County teams as they will now prepare for action in the Third Regional Tournament on Saturday at Iroquois High School starting at 9 a.m.

  • Local swim teams set for regional tourneys

          LOUISVILLE – Despite not have a home swimming pool and with only a limited feeder program, the Bullitt County High School Swimming Team is not an area powerhouse.

         Still, long-time head coach Laura Meyer continues to plug away and she will have 30 athletes competing this week in the Region Two Swimming and Diving Meet at the University of Louisville’s Ralph Wright Natatorium.
