  • NB has a little more offense than BC

HEBRON ESTATES – After the two arch-rivals stumbled through a 46-31 win in the first meeting of the season, the rematch on Friday between North Bullitt and Bullitt Central had nowhere to go but up.

    And up it went.

In a much more scintillating contest, a near capacity crowd at North Bullitt watched the two rivals battle it out in hand-to-hand combat before the Eagles pulled away late for a 71-60 win.

  • East wins pair over weekend

MOUNT WASHINGTON -- The Bullitt East Chargers and Lady Chargers both picked up key wins over the weekend as they started the new year with a pair of wins.

    Chargers’ District Win

First, on Friday, the Bullitt East Chargers played their second 24th District game of the week, turning back visiting Whitefield Academy 90-57.

The win moved Bullitt East to 2-0 in the race for the top spot in the district standings.

  • Eagles come up short late against St. Xavier

LOUISVILLE – A 9-0 run to end the first half put the North Bullitt Eagles behind the eight ball on Monday night in the opening round of the Boys’ Republic Bank Louisville Invitational Tournament and despite some spirited play down the stretch, the green and gold could not rally past St. Xavier, falling 54-49.

  • All three locals make Girls' LIT

SHEPHERDSVILLE – Tuesday, Jan. 27 will be a special day for Bullitt County basketball as all three high school programs will compete on the same day for the first time in the Girls’ Republic Bank/Coca-Cola Louisville Invitational Tournament.

While Bullitt East has a long history with the event, winning the title in 1996, this will be the first time that North Bullitt and Bullitt Central will participate. In fact, it is the first year that the Lady Eagles and Lady Cougars have made themselves eligible to compete in the 16-team event.

  • North sweeps pair of district games from Moore

HEBRON ESTATES -- For Korey Craddock, the first half of his team's district opener against the Moore Mustangs could not have gone much better.

  • Cougars, Lady Eagles win other early week games

SHEPHERDSVILLE – In the team’s first action back since taking a few days off for the holidays, the Bullitt Central Cougars reversed some of their earlier misfortune on Tuesday as they beat Meade County 85-75.

Meade County made the trip to Shepherdsville with just one loss on the season, but the Cougars outscored them in each quarter to notch the team’s sixth win of the season.

  • Lady Chargers roll early

FERN CREEK – The Bullitt East Lady Chargers didn’t waste any time on Tuesday getting the best of 24th District rival Fern Creek.

In the first district game that will settle the seedings for the first-round of the post-season, Bullitt East jumped on top of the home team 16-2 in the first quarter and stretched that to 35-7 by halftime.

With the first eight points of the second half, Bullitt East put the ‘running clock’ into action as they rolled easily to a 64-26 victory.

  • Chargers find the target just in time

FERN CREEK – In what is becoming one of the hottest rivalries of the regular season for the Bullitt East Chargers, the red and gold got hot just in time from the field on Tuesday as the team managed to slip past Fern Creek 61-59.

  • Lady Chargers remain hot for Missouri show

MOUNT WASHINGTON – After losing four out of the first five games of the season, the Bullitt East Lady Chargers needed a spark.

That came in the team’s Schmid Funeral Home Classic as the red and gold rallied in the second half of the championship game to beat North Bullitt by ten points.

  • Lady Eagles hit a bump in the road on the road

HEBRON ESTATES – The five-day holiday trip to Charleston, South Carolinas was good, but the results were less than satisfying for the North Bullitt Lady Eagles.

After winning eight straight games to open the season, North Bullitt had dropped the championship game of the Schmid Funeral Home Classic at Bullitt East to the host team.
