     HEBRON ESTATES - After a breakout junior season that saw him shift to the middle of the North Bullitt batting order, Tyler Lloyd got the pay-off recently when he signed to play baseball at Pikeville College starting next fall.

     HEBRON ESTATES - The North Bullitt Eagles and Lady Eagles both made it look easy on Friday as they played poor hosts to Whitefield Academy, sweeping both games with lopsided scores.

     MOUNT WASHINGTON - Despite not being back in school yet after the holidays, the Bullitt East Chargers picked up its first victory in district play on Friday as they traveled in Jefferson County and defeated Jeffersontown 80-54.

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - Jumping out to a 21-2 lead less than six minutes into the game, the Bullitt East Chargers showed Bullitt Central how it was done Monday en route to a 79-36 victory.

     LEXINGTON - The Bullitt East Chargers started 2013 on a high note Saturday, rolling past traditional state power Lexington Catholic in the Dunkin Donuts National Tournament.

  • County clash gets an early start at BC tonight

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - The first of two Bullitt East versus Bullitt Central boys’ basketball meetings will take place on Monday of this week as the Chargers travel west to play in the Cougars’ Den.

    This contest was originally scheduled for last Friday as a boy-girl doubleheader. However, when it learned that Bullitt County schools would not return to classes until this week from Christmas break, the two schools began looking for an alternate date.

          SHEPHERDSVILLE - Tonight, Kentucky's top-ranked boys' basketball team, Bullitt East, will invade Bullitt Central to take on the Cougars' in the Big House.

         Sure, it's Bullitt East. The Chargers make the trip down Highway 44 every winter. Still, you can't type that as 'it's just Bullitt East.' Never before have the Chargers made the short trip to Shepherdsville with such lofty credentials.

  • Chargers rally to finish fifth in a tough Texas field

          MOUNT WASHINGTON - If it was possible, the Bullitt East Chargers took another step up the competition ladder right after Christmas when the red and gold traveled to Fort Worth, Texas for the 55th annual Whataburger Tournament.

  • Lady Cougars still seeking an offensive spark

          SHEPHERDSVILLE - A three-day holiday trip to Scottsville didn't turn out so well for the Bullitt Central Lady Cougars between Christmas and New Year's Day as the team went 1-2 in the South Central Bank-Halton Classic.

         Worse than the record, the Lady Cougars lost senior shooting guard Kristin Collins to a knee injury in the second-half of the opening game. Collins returned to Shepherdsville that night and had an MRI, but the results were not going to be available until this past weekend.

  • Cougars improve to beat Allen County

          SHEPHERDSVILLE - Just before Christmas, the Bullitt Central Cougars took part in the Sarah Major Barger Tournament at North Bullitt, an event that was eventually won by Allen County-Scottsville.

         The Cougars finished fifth.

         A week later, Bullitt Central traveled south to compete in the South Central Bank-Halton Classic, an event conducted by Allen County-Scottsville. As it turned out, the Cougars were paired up with the host school in the first-round of the eight-team event.
