  • Late addition to schedule doesn't faze Chargers

          MOUNT WASHINGTON – A late addition to the schedule didn’t prove to be a problem for the Bullitt East Chargers as the state’s third-ranked team rolled past visiting Covington Holy Cross 77-55.

         The game was added to the schedule just two days earlier after a game the previous Friday against Collins had to be cancelled because of bad weather. Unable to reschedule Collins, Bullitt East head coach Troy Barr saw on-line that Holy Cross was looking for a game.

  • Defending champs knock out BE early

          LOUISVILLE – Chalk it up to another good learning experience for the Bullitt East Lady Chargers.

         After a spirited victory over a top regional contender the night before, Bullitt East faced the state’s second rated basketball team Wednesday in the second round of the Louisville Invitational Tournament.

         On this night, the Lady Chargers would be no threat to the Manual Lady Crimsons, who jumped on top early en route to a 61-34 victory.

  • East hits all the right notes in win

          LOUISVILLE – Putting together the team’s best performance of the season, the Bullitt East Lady Chargers reversed an early season loss to Butler by upending the Bearettes 60-50 on Tuesday in an opening-round game of the Girls’ Louisville Invitational Tournament.

  • BC Homecoming now set for Feb. 5

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - After being postponed last Friday because of icy road conditions, Bullitt Central has rescheduled its basketball homecoming for Tuesday, Feb. 5 as part of a girl/boy doubleheader against Moore.

  • East girls get key win over Panthers

     MOUNT WASHINGTON – The Bullitt East Lady Chargers proved on Thursday that they belong with the top teams in the Sixth Region this season as they held on to beat Pleasure Ridge Park 59-56 on Dixie Highway.

     SHEPHERDSVILLE – With only three weeks remaining in the regular season, intra-district play to decide the pairings for the upcoming district tournaments is reaching the homestretch.

     MOUNT STERLING – Even the best basketball teams have a bad half every now and then.

  • Lady Eagles split two key contests

     HEBRON ESTATES – It was a tale of various outcomes for the North Bullitt Lady Eagles in recent contests.

    Last Thursday, the green and gold made a return trip to South Oldham to take on the Lady Dragons, a team that they had lost to 54-51 in the first game of the Lady Dragon Hoop Fest, a holiday tournament just before Christmas.

  • Central picks up first district win

          SHEPHERDSVILLE - The Bullitt Central Cougars picked up their first victory of the season in 23rd District play on Wednesday when the maroon and gray traveled up I-65 and defeated Evangel 51-43.

         With games still remaining against Moore and Southern in February, the Cougars now stand 1-1 in the games that will be used to seed the upcoming tournament which will be played at North Bullitt.

  • East sweeps past district rival Fern Creek

          FERN CREEK - It took a few minutes for the Bullitt East Chargers to get their Kentucky Legs back under themselves after spending five days in Missouri, but once they did on Tuesday, the red and gold cruised past 24th District rival Fern Creek 60-40.

         The win was the 18th this season for the Chargers who have only one loss against a team from Kentucky.
