  • Local tennis teams have series of close matches

            MOUNT WASHINGTON - Spring break gave a vacation to tennis players in the county.

            Prior to the break, the North Bullitt Lady Eagles fell 3-1 to Pleasure Ridge Park.

            North Bullitt’s top singles player, Megan Kottak, scored the lone Eagle victory with a 6-2, 6-1 decision over Chelsea Thompson.

            In other singles action, Lottie Fischer fell 6-2, 6-0 to Leti Arcos.

    Hebron Estates - Although it is not a sanctioned sport by the Kentucky High School Athletic Association, don't tell these boys and girls who recently gathered at North Bullitt High School.

    North Bullitt was the host of the state weightlifting championships. Students from all over Kentucky recently attended the day-long event.

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - There will be plenty of softball in Bullitt County on Friday and Saturday with the 4th Annual Kentucky One Health BC/BE Invitational.

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - There was only one game for the Bullitt Central Cougars over spring break, but it was a positive event as the maroon and gray rallied to beat Pendleton County in nine innings.

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - After not playing for over a week, the Bullitt Central Lady Cougars capped off spring break with a trip to Russellville to compete in the Lady Laker Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

  • Big season in 2012 could be tip of the iceberg

     

            SHEPHERDSVILLE - For the first time in history, all three Bullitt County girls’ basketball teams advanced to a regional tournament.

            That led into Bullitt East and North Bullitt meeting in the first round of the Sixth Region Tournament, another first for two local basketball teams.
