  • BC scores at state wrestling

LEXINGTON - A pair of local wrestlers got a good learning experience over the weekend as they competed in their first trip to the Kentucky State Wrestling Championships at the Alltech Arena at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.

Bullitt Central’s Mike Saunders has made big strides throughout the season and he picked up the only win for the local wrestlers before finishing with a 1-2 record.

  • Lady Eagles' win on Friday is a record-setter

HEBRON ESTATES - The North Bullitt Lady Eagles did something on Friday that had not been done in the 36 previous years of the programs’ existence.

  • BE’s quick start too much for BC

SHEPHERDSVILLE - With a 22-3 lead five minutes into the game, the Bullitt East Chargers on Monday night flexed their considerable muscle and defeated Bullitt Central 88-61 before a large and boisterous crowd in the Cougars’ Den.

  • Handful of locals qualify for wrestling, swim state tourneys

LOUISVILLE - It was a big weekend for Bullitt East senior Mason Turlington at the Region II Swimming Championships as he qualified for two events at the Kentucky State Swimming and Diving Championships next weekend in Louisville.

  • Loss to Southern proves costly for Cougars

OKOLONA - It was a tale of two games for the Bullitt Central Cougar faithful on Friday night.

  • Collins’ 22 points lift BC

SHEPHERDSVILLE - The first game of the last week of the regular season is always a good time to play your best game of the season.

  • BE's Troutman signs for track at Louisville

MOUNT WASHINGTON - Dedication to one sport paid off in a big way on Wednesday when Bullitt East senior Trevor Troutman signed to continue his track and field career with the University of Louisville.
Troutman is coming off a junior track season in which he won the Class AA State Championship in the discus. His throw of 164-11, which came on his last throw (as a sophomore he finished second, losing on the last throw) was the best discus throw in any of the three classes.

  • Lady Chargers do better at the free throw line for win

MOUNT WASHINGTON - Free is always good.
Hitting free throws is priceless for basketball coaches.
That is why Bullitt East head coach Chris Stallings was all smiles Friday after his Lady Chargers converted 21 of 25 chances at the charity stripe as they beat visiting North Bullitt 63-57.

  • Chargers roll early then get a battle in second half from NB

MOUNT WASHINGTON - With a 22-3 lead two minutes into the second quarter, the Bullitt East Chargers were on the road to victory on Friday as they hosted North Bullitt.
By the end, the Chargers had a 67-41 victory, but there were enough bumps in the road to leave head coach Troy Barr still shaking his head as his team seems unable to shift into the highest gear possible.

  • Bullitt Central splits two district games at Moore

LOUISVILLE - It was a tale of two totally different games on Tuesday for the Bullitt Central basketball programs as the maroon and gray traveled into Jefferson County to take on Moore in a pair of key 23rd District contests.
Unfortunately, the opener was a nightmare for the Cougars as they failed to fire on all cylinders against the high-powered Mustangs, the sixth-ranked team in the state rankings the past few weeks since they finished as the runners-up in the Louisville Invitational Tournament to Trinity.
