  • Chargers roll early then get a battle in second half from NB

        MOUNT WASHINGTON - With a 22-3 lead two minutes into the second quarter, the Bullitt East Chargers were on the road to victory on Friday as they hosted North Bullitt.
        By the end, the Chargers had a 67-41 victory, but there were enough bumps in the road to leave head coach Troy Barr still shaking his head as his team seems unable to shift into the highest gear possible.

  • Bullitt Central splits two district games at Moore

        LOUISVILLE - It was a tale of two totally different games on Tuesday for the Bullitt Central basketball programs as the maroon and gray traveled into Jefferson County to take on Moore in a pair of key 23rd District contests.
        Unfortunately, the opener was a nightmare for the Cougars as they failed to fire on all cylinders against the high-powered Mustangs, the sixth-ranked team in the state rankings the past few weeks since they finished as the runners-up in the Louisville Invitational Tournament to Trinity.

  • Lady Eagles stay hot, but boys fall hard to Southern

        HEBRON ESTATES - Tuesday evening offered mixed results for the Courtney household.
        For Amber Courtney, it was a pretty good night as her North Bullitt Lady Eagles took care of business with a 61-34 victory over Southern.
        But for husband Brian Courtney, it was another frustrating night against an athletic Southern Trojan squad.

  • North's Heltsley headed to SEC for soccer

        HEBRON ESTATES - Never one to back down from a challenge on the soccer field, North Bullitt senior Halee Heltsley knew exactly what she wanted when it came to a college.
        In November of 2010, at a time when most of her classmates had not even started thinking seriously about college, Heltsley committed to the Mississippi State University. On Wednesday, the senior made it all official, signing a bevy of papers that made her a Lady Bulldog.
