  • Lady Cougars pull away late

      TAYLORSVILLE - Getting 17 points from junior guard Selena Yunt, the Bullitt Central Lady Cougars won for a season-high fifth straight game on Friday, pulling away from an early deficit to beat Spencer County 60-47.

  • Honored at Bullitt East

    MOUNT WASHINGTON - Before a recent Bullitt East game against Iroquois, presentations were made for a pair of recent accomplishments in the boys' basketball program.

    Bullitt East Coaches were presented with rings for last season's trip to the final four of the Boys' Kentucky State Basketball Tournament.

    The rings were donated by Schmid Funeral Home.

    Also, Bullitt East head coach Troy Barr recently won his 200th game as the Chargers' head coach.

    He was presented a game ball by Bullitt East principal Debby Atherton.

  • Small wins emotional game

        LOUISVILLE - It was the game that everybody was thinking about, but nobody really wanted to play.
        That was the situation on Tuesday in the opening round of the Girls' Louisville Invitational Tournament as Bullitt East took on Assumption. It was the old head coach at Bullitt East taking on his prodigies as Assumption is now coached by Steve Small.
        It was an emotional game long before the opening tip-off.

  • Cougars stay hot, win pair of impressive contests

        SHEPHERDSVILLE - Since losing to North Bullitt back on Jan. 13, the Bullitt Central Cougars have been on a mission.
        The Cougars recovery from loss gained more momentum early last week as the maroon and gray won a pair of games in 24-hours to improve to 17-5 overall. Since the North Bullitt loss, the Cougars have won four straight and since a loss to the state's fifth-ranked team, Pleasure Ridge Park, on Jan. 3, the Cougars have won six of seven.

  • Fourth quarter woes continue to haunt BE in LIT

     LOUISVILLE - For the second time in as many games, the Bullitt East lady Chargers could not hold a fourth quarter lead and lost Tuesday to Assumption 49-42 in the first-round of the Girls' Louisville Invitational Tournament at Bellarmine University's Knights Hall.

  • BC Hoops Homecoming Court

     Bullitt Central celebrated Homecoming on Friday during the basketball games with Iroquois.

    The 2012 Queen and King were seniors Tori Boston and Luke Whitmore.

    Boston is the daughter of Ted Boston and Linda Andrews while Whitmore is the son of Dwight and Patty Whitmore.

  • Lady Eagles cruise past Central Hardin

     HEBRON ESTATES - Playing for the first time in a week, the North Bullitt Lady Eagles picked up a nice win on Monday as they cruised past visiting Central Hardin 63-57.

     HEBRON ESTATES - After winning five straight games, the North Bullitt Eagles were looking forward to a big weekend as they were to play twice.

  • Weekend ‘showcase’ events are split by Charger squads

     MOUNT WASHINGTON - The Bullitt East Chargers and Lady Chargers stepped out of ‘regular’ season play again this past weekend to compete in a pair of ‘showcase’ events.

  • Central survives second meeting with Iroquois

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - The Bullitt Central Lady Cougars survived what could have been the perfect storm of negatives on Saturday to beat visiting Iroquois 47-40 before a large homecoming crowd.
