  • Military showcased during Salem Speedway Spring Speed Fest May 19

     SALEM, Ind. - Since 1950 the third Saturday in May has been designated as Armed Forces Day in honor of Americans serving in the U.S. military.  

    Salem Speedway will offer a special salute to our nation’s military personnel as part of the upcoming Casey’s General Store Spring Speed Fest presented by Salem True Value Hardware.

  • NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion’s Week Returns To Las Vegas

    DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – NASCAR announced today that the annual NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards – and all of Champion’s Week – will return to Las Vegas, Nev., and remain there for the next three years.

    For the fourth-consecutive season, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards will take place at Wynn Las Vegas on Friday, Nov. 30, a culmination of a week-long celebration for the series champion – and NASCAR fans. As in past years, fans can expect the traditionally exciting and interactive week of activities.

  • Battle at the Banks Autocross set for May 5 at Salem Speedway

     SALEM, Ind. – One of the biggest AutoCross events in the Midwest is set for this Saturday at Salem Speedway, as upwards of 100 plus cars are expected for the inaugural “Battle at the Banks” 

    The $1,000 to win event, with a guaranteed payoff to the top 16 participants, will be contested on a course utilizing both the infield short-track and the famed high banks.

    The event is open to any domestic vehicle with proper registration.  The vehicle must be licensed to drive on the highway.

  • Salem Speedway to try again on Sunday to kick-off 2012 season with short-track festival

    SALEM, Ind. – Following a three week postponement due to inclement weather on April 1, Salem Speedway is set to open its 2012 season on Sunday afternoon with the Taco Bell/Pizza Hut Express Short-Track Festival.

    The O’Reilly Auto Parts Pure Stocks and Portland Recycling Front Wheel Drive Stocks are set to share the quarter-mile infield oval for a full slate of racing action.

  • Taco Bell/Pizza Hut Express Short-Track Festival rescheduled for Apr. 22

     SALEM, Ind. – Morning rain and extremely wet grounds forced postponement of the Taco Bell/Pizza Hut Express Short-Track Festival originally scheduled for Apr. 1 at Salem Speedway.

    The season opening event has been rescheduled for Sunday, April 22nd.  The O’Reilly Auto Parts Pure Stocks and Portland Recycling Front Wheel Drive Stocks are set to headline the Short-Track Festival.  Due to a schedule conflict the FAST Series divisions – Legends Cars, Bandoleros and Thunder Roadsters – are unable to be a part of the rescheduled event.

  • Salem Speedway kicks off the 2012 season with short-track practice

     SALEM, IN – The first official 2012 Salem Speedway on-track action is set to unfold on Saturday afternoon with a three-hour practice period.

    The short-track test and tune session is open to the O’Reilly Auto Parts Pure Stocks and Portland Recycling Front Wheel Drive Stocks and any other racing divisions scheduled to compete on the infield quarter-mile oval during the 2012 season.

    Pit gates open at 10 a.m., with practice from noon to 3 p.m.
