• NASCAR Adds Media Excellence Award To Annual Hall Of Fame Honors

     DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Following the announcement of the 2013 NASCAR Hall of Fame class tonight, NASCAR announced the creation of a new award to honor the contributions of media to the success of the sport. This award, which will become part of the annual NASCAR Hall of Fame ceremonies beginning in February 2013, will bear the names of the first two award winners, legendary broadcasters Ken Squier and Barney Hall, and be called the Squier-Hall Award for NASCAR Media Excellence.

  • 2013 NASCAR Hall Of Fame Class Announced

       DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – NASCAR announced today the 2013 class of inductees into the NASCAR Hall of Fame. The five-person class, which will be officially inducted in a ceremony on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, N.C., consists of Buck Baker, Cotton Owens, Herb Thomas, Rusty Wallace and Leonard Wood.

  • NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion’s Week Returns To Las Vegas

    DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – NASCAR announced today that the annual NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards – and all of Champion’s Week – will return to Las Vegas, Nev., and remain there for the next three years.

    For the fourth-consecutive season, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards will take place at Wynn Las Vegas on Friday, Nov. 30, a culmination of a week-long celebration for the series champion – and NASCAR fans. As in past years, fans can expect the traditionally exciting and interactive week of activities.

  • Battle at the Banks Autocross set for May 5 at Salem Speedway

     SALEM, Ind. – One of the biggest AutoCross events in the Midwest is set for this Saturday at Salem Speedway, as upwards of 100 plus cars are expected for the inaugural “Battle at the Banks” 

    The $1,000 to win event, with a guaranteed payoff to the top 16 participants, will be contested on a course utilizing both the infield short-track and the famed high banks.

    The event is open to any domestic vehicle with proper registration.  The vehicle must be licensed to drive on the highway.

  • Salem Speedway to try again on Sunday to kick-off 2012 season with short-track festival

    SALEM, Ind. – Following a three week postponement due to inclement weather on April 1, Salem Speedway is set to open its 2012 season on Sunday afternoon with the Taco Bell/Pizza Hut Express Short-Track Festival.

    The O’Reilly Auto Parts Pure Stocks and Portland Recycling Front Wheel Drive Stocks are set to share the quarter-mile infield oval for a full slate of racing action.
