  • Nascar driver David Ragan to make appearance at Salem during ARCA 200

     SALEM, IN – David Ragan, driver of the Roush Fenway Racing UPS Ford on the NASCAR Sprint Cup circuit, will be making a special guest appearance at Salem Speedway during the upcoming Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA 200.

    Ragan, a former ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards competitor, will be talking with fans and signing autographs during his Salem visit on Sunday, May 1st.

  • Cornett Racing Engines to Sponsor 11th Annual Bluegrass Classic at Bluegrass Speedway

     BARDSTOWN - Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell are pleased to announce that Cornett “Thunder and Lightning” Racing Engines of Somerset, KY will be the sponsor of the track’s 11th Annual Bluegrass Classic.  The event will take place on Saturday August 27 and will be sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.

  • Salem Speedway tries again to kick off 2011 season with short-track festival

     SALEM, IN, March 28 – Following a one week postponement due to inclement weather, Salem Speedway is set to open its 2011 season on Sunday afternoon with the inaugural “Short-Track Festival”.

     Salem Speedway Pure Stocks and Front Wheel Drive Stocks, the FAST Series – Legend Cars, Bandoleros and Thunder Roadsters – and the IKO Mini Cups are set to share the new quarter-mile infield oval for a full slate of racing action.

  • PNC Bank signs on as title sponsor of Salem Speedway’s Pit Road

    SALEM, Ind. - The orange and blue colors of PNC Bank will be seen on Pit Road for the 2011 season at the Salem Speedway, as the bank recently signed a two-year agreement to be title sponsor. It will now be known as PNC Pit Road.

    “Salem Speedway has a long history as an economic engine for Salem and surrounding communities,” said Mike Moll, senior vice president for PNC Bank. “We are proud to be a partner in what is shaping up to be a great year for racing in this area.”

  • Bluegrass Speedway Ready for Racing

      Bardstown - Bluegrass Speedway will begin its 17th season of dirt track sports entertainment with the upcoming 2011 season and track promoters David and Anita Ferrell will begin their 12th season at helm of the ½ mile high-banked clay oval.  With the slogan of “Where It’s Always Showtime”, the track will present a 17 event schedule, including an open test and tune practice night for all divisions of Saturday April 9.

  • 2011 Salem Speedway Practice dates released

     SALEM, Ind. - The dates for Salem Speedway’s annual pre-season test & tune sessions have been released reports track management.

    The short-track test is set for Saturday, March 19th with the high banks practice scheduled for Saturday, April 2nd.

    The March 19th practice is only for divisions scheduled to compete on the Salem Speedway short-track during the 2011 season and the April 2nd date is exclusively for cars racing on the half-mile oval during the upcoming season.
