  • 52nd annual James/O'Connor Memorial at Salem Speedway Aug. 6

     SALEM, IN, August 1 – The 52nd running of one of the most historic sprint car races in the nation is set to take place at Salem Speedway on Saturday night, as the Must See Racing (MSR) Xtreme Sprint Series visits the venerable high banks for the Joe James/Pat O’Connor Memorial.

  • USAC Sprints scratched from James/O'Connor Memorial

      SALEM, Ind. – Salem Speedway management announced today that the USAC National Pavement Sprint Car series has been removed from the event schedule for the upcoming Joe James/Pat O’Connor Memorial.


    In making the announcement Salem Speedway general manager Richard Deaton said, “Due to the fact that we have been informed by USAC officials that a low car count is expected, possibly as few as six cars, it leaves us with no other option than to drop USAC from the event.”

  • Field is set for inaugural Salem Speedway "Faster Pastor Race to take place on July 23

    SALEM, Ind. – The field is set for the inaugural “Faster Pastor Race” to take place on July 23rd at Salem Speedway as part of the JayC Food Stores Saturday Night Thunder.

    Ministers from nine Kentuckiana area churches have accepted the challenge to strap in a Six Sigma Front Wheel Drive Stockcar and go head-to-head on the quarter-mile Salem Speedway infield oval to determine who in fact the “Faster Pastor” is.
