MOUNT WASHINGTON – The baseball pipeline between Mount Washington and Owensboro is running at full speed this summer as Bullitt East baseball standout Derrick Krommenacker recently signed to play for Brescia University starting in the fall.

When all is said and done, four players from the Charger team that reached the Final Four of the Kentucky State Baseball Tournament, will sign with the Bearcats and head coach Andrew Dickson.

  • Hoffman takes over third team to...

HEBRON ESTATES – Four years, four 23rd District Tournament titles.

Four seasons, four trips to the semi-finals of the Sixth Region Tournament.

Those are all great accomplishments, especially for a program that before the recent surge, had very little success in girls’ soccer. The recent past, including last season’s 15-6-2 record, has been good for the North Bullitt Lady Eagles, but they are looking for more in 2016.

MOUNT WASHINGTON – Brescia University in Owensboro has suddenly built a pipeline to the Bullitt East baseball program and no one was happier about that than senior Troy O’Brien who recently signed to play for the Bearcats.

  • BE to rely on big junior class

MOUNT WASHINGTON – The past few seasons has not been as successful as some other seasons for the Bullitt East Chargers, but fueled by a junior class with 14 members, veteran head coach Mike Brangers is looking to continue an uptick started late last season.

  • Truck, tractor pulling at...

CLERMONT -- There’s nothing like a good truck pull to draw out a crowd.

No matter what part of the state or region the event is held, big crowds are sure to follow.

On Saturday, Aug. 13, the Battle of the Bluegrass pulling series will again make its stop in Bullitt County.

Eight divisions will try to pull the biggest weight the farthest distance on the Bullitt County Fairgrounds track.

  • Lady Chargers set to make...

MOUNT WASHINGTON – There is no greater broken record in area sports than the Sixth Region girls’ soccer tournament.

In 2016, Bullitt East is once again out to break that record.

Over the past four seasons, since the present alignment has been put into place, the Lady Chargers have lost 12 straight games to Mercy. Four of those came in the championship game of the Sixth Region Tournament, four came in the final of the 24th District Tournament and four came during the regular season.

Their reward is a trip to the Babe Ruth World Series. Blue Lick will be one of 10 teams to compete for the national crown.
