        SHEPHERDSVILLE - Just barely beating the snow that would cancel school the next day, both the Bullitt Central Lady Cougars and the North Bullitt Lady Eagles picked up expected wins last Monday.
        For Bullitt Central, coach Bryan Bates' team scored over 85 points for the third straight game as they ran past Iroquois 85-44. The Lady Raiders won the state tournament two years ago, but they have fallen on hard times since then.

  • Troutman fuels East past Western

        LOUISVILLE - A two-day delay to the start of the 2011 Boys’ Louisville Invitational Tournament for the Bullitt East Chargers didn’t prove to be a problem.
        Finally getting on the court on Thursday at Doss High School instead of Bellarmine University’s Knights’ Hall because of snow on Tuesday, the Chargers got a huge game from Rusty Troutman to beat Sixth Region rival Western 69-62.

        LOUISVILLE - Perhaps the biggest shot in Bullitt East basketball history shouldn’t have counted, but it did, and that was all that mattered Friday as the Chargers stunned Jeffersontown 56-54 in overtime in the quarter-finals of the 2011 Boys’ Louisville Invitational Tournament.

        LOUISVILLE - Even the best ride at Disney World eventually comes to an end.
        The Bullitt East Chargers were reminded of that on Saturday morning as a remarkable 40-hour run in the 2011 Boys’ Louisville Invitational Tournament came to an end against eventual champion Eastern 88-52 in Saturday morning’s first semi-final.
