     HEBRON ESTATES - A rare sport that started at the middle school level has pushed its way into forming a program at the high school level as North Bullitt will have an archery team this school year.

  • BC football camp gets sport...

     A break in the hot weather came at just the right time this summer for the annual Bullitt Central Youth Football Camp under the direction of Danny Leasor.

    Roughly 45 young players got to work under Leasor and his coaching staff to get the basics of the sport to take back to their youth football league teams.

    There was also a lot of fun.

                   FERN CREEK - The Under-8 Mount Washington Softball All-Stars were sailing right along in the Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken Kentucky State Tournament until the very last inning of the championship game.

                   Unfortunately, at that point the Fern Creek Orange, playing on its home field, scored twice in the bottom of the sixth and final inning to record a 2-1 victory to take home the big trophy.

                   LOUISVILLE - Saturday night’s Kentucky High School Coaches Association East/West Junior All-Star Basketball Game at St. Xavier had a Bullitt County feel as two rising seniors and a former head coach were all part of the festivities.

                   This annual summer contest pits the best players from the Fifth and Sixth Regions (West) against the top players from the Seventh and Eighth Region (East).

                SHEPHERDSVILLE - In a school year in which a record number of area high school athletes have signed to continue their careers at the next level, it should be noted that not all college signings are of high school seniors.

                Over the past couple of weeks, a pair of former local players have cast their lots with area baseball programs with both at least a year removed from high school.
