      MOUNT WASHINGTON - In the first-round of the Class 5-A play-offs, the Bullitt East Chargers will get a chance that few football teams do - revenge.

  • Cougar program sees mirror image...

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - If the Bullitt Central football program looked in a mirror this week, they would see something much like the Grayson County Cougars, their first-round opponent in this week’s Class 5-A play-offs.

  • Championship Saturday contests...

     Championship Saturday is set in The Greater Bullitt County Youth Football League after play this past weekend with the semi-finals contested in all four age divisions. All four of the top-seeded teams advanced to the championship games along with two of the second-seeded teams as well as two number three seeds.

    That means the end of the season for the majority of the teams in the league. Still, All-Star competition will have practices next week with games the following weekend.

     LOUISVILLE - In the first bowling match of the season, North Bullitt and Bullitt Central split the two matches as they played at Derby Lanes.

     BARDSTOWN - For the only time this season, all three Bullitt County cross-country programs were at the same meet last Wednesday as they all competed in the Mid-Kentucky Athletic Conference Championships at Hillbilly Heaven in Bardstown.

          SHEPHERDSVILLE - A loss in Week 10 of the high school football season is not the end of the world with one exception - if it affects how you play in Week 11, the first week of the play-offs.

         That was the message that Bullitt Central head coach Danny Leasor was trying to instill in his team on Friday night after the Cougars dropped a 35-6 decision to unbeaten Warren East.

          BARDSTOWN - If nothing else, the Bullitt East Chargers are determined and resolute.

         For the second week in a row, the red and gold found themselves in a big hole early, but then battled back with strong play to put themselves in position to win in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, the end of both games was unsatisfactory as they lost for a second straight week.

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - The six Bullitt County cross-country teams are into the final two weeks of the regular season and many of the programs are having strong seasons and are positioned to make strong runs at titles in the upcoming Class AA and Class AAA regional meets set for Saturday, Nov. 2.
