The event was run by North Bullitt head coach Amber Courtney who just completed her first season at the helm.

The camp attracted 57 young ladies for four days of basketball activities.

  • Kentucky side of All-Star series...

LOUISVILLE - The product on the court was impressive this summer in the annual two game basketball All-Star series between Kentucky and Indiana.

Unfortunately, not a lot of people in Kentucky, and mainly the Louisville area, seemed to care. In a series that once packed crowds into Freedom Hall, the 2010 game on the south side of the Ohio River had no problem getting the crowd into 3,200-seat Knights’ Hall at Bellarmine University.

  • North Bullitt starts fast but...

LOUISVILLE - The magical late-season run of the North Bullitt Eagles came to a close on Tuesday afternoon.

In Jim Patterson Stadium on the University of Louisville campus, the Eagles fell 9-4 to the Butler Bears in the semifinals of the Sixth Region baseball tournament.

The loss came 24 hours after North Bullitt pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the season by defeating Pleasure Ridge Park, the state’s second-ranked team, in the regional opener.

  • Chargers easily defeat Central...

LOUISVILLE - Some baseball victories are spectacular and others more mundane.

But in the post-season, any victory is to be cherished no matter the intensity level. It is win and move on.

That was the case Monday night in the final opening round game of the Sixth Region Baseball Tournament at St. Xavier. Bullitt East was supposed to mow down a Central team that had won just six of 28 contests to this point in the season.

  • Return to regional scene ends...

LOUISVILLE - Seniors Jenna Simms and Erin Manns never expected to be standing in Ulmer Stadium playing for the right to advance to the state softball tournament.

After struggling through a trio of sub-par seasons, Bullitt East came within two innings of making one of the most improbable tournament runs in the state of Kentucky.

Despite the 5-4 loss on Thursday to Pleasure Ridge Park, first-year coach Ricky Hoffman was full of smiles.

  • Perfect Storm: Eagles eliminate...

LOUISVILLE - It was the perfect storm for the North Bullitt Eagles on Monday as they upset the state’s second-ranked PRP Panthers to open the Sixth Region baseball tournament.

Behind the solid pitching of Cody Montgomery, timely hitting and a tight defense, the Eagles upset the Panthers 3-2 to advance to the semifinals on Tuesday against the Butler Bears.

  • Long ball turns post-season into...

OKOLONA - A pair of home runs accounted for all seven of the runs that Pleasure Ridge Park would need on Monday in an opening round game of the Sixth Region Softball Tournament against North Bullitt.

The Lady Panthers got a grand slam in the bottom of the first inning from Sara Paragon and then a three-run blast from Morgan Hart in the fourth inning en route to a 7-4 victory against the runners-up of the 24th District Tournament.
