  • North's Kennedy signs for...

HEBRON ESTATES – North Bullitt senior Anthony Kennedy has always wanted to play baseball in college.

He will get that chance this fall after signing recently to play at Brescia University located in Owensboro.

In the end, the decision to sign with Brescia was pretty simple – they made the best financial offer for Kennedy and his family. The only other school that Kennedy considered was Berea College.

OKOLONA – With a team primarily made up of 16 year olds, head coach Tommy Parker wasn’t looking to win the Kentucky 16-18 baseball tournament.

During its four-game trek, Parker’s team exceeded expectations to win 2-2 for the tournament, hosted by Okolona Youth Baseball.

  • MW U-8 Red All-Stars win another...

MOUNT WASHINGTON – There are no ‘perfect’ games in U-8 Machine Pitch Baseball, but if there was, the Mount Washington Red All-Stars could have claimed the designation on Tuesday after rolling past St. Matthews 8-0 in the Championship Game of the District xx Tournament that the team was hosting.

  • Blast Dash was a wet one

The Bullitt County Family YMCA sponsored the July 4 Bullitt Blast Dash on the morning of the big holiday event.

Despite the rain, the run and walk drew dozens of participants who sloshed their way from Paroquet Springs Conference Centre to the city park and back.

  • MW Gold U-8 All-Stars finish...

MOUNT WASHINGTON – The Mount Washington Under-8 Gold All-Stars made a big run in last week’s District 10 & 11 Tournament that the league was hosting.

Unlike the league’s other U-8 All-Star squad which played together all spring as a ‘traveling’ team, this Gold squad was a true All-Star squad as the team’s players competed only in the league’s regular league.

  • BL U-10 All-Stars drop two

The U-10 Blue Lick All-Stars, playing in the district tournament at The Okolona Youth League, ran into a buzzsaw in its opener against Southwest Louisville on Wednesday. The local all-stars were then eliminated by Prairie Village in their second game.
