LEXINGTON - Bullitt County’s impressive improvement in cross-country bore more sweet fruit on Saturday at the Kentucky State Cross-Country Championships at the Kentucky Horse Park.

In the Class AA Girls’ race, Bullitt East, a program that had never even qualified for the state championships, finished eighth overall. Freshman Jessica Prell turned in the best finish at state ever for a Lady Charger when she crossed the line 20th.

LAWRENCEBURG - Bullitt Central’s 2010 post-season football success story proved to be short and sweet as the end came on Friday with a 42-7 loss to Anderson County in the second-round of the Class 5-A play-offs.

  • Warriors too physical for Eagles

LOUISVILLE - For the past two months, the North Bullitt Eagles have lined up and blown people off the line of scrimmage.

On Friday night, the Eagles got a little dose of their own medicine.

As a result, the Western Warriors will be advancing to a Friday night encounter against Collins High School in the Class 4A football playoffs.

The visiting Eagles ended their season Friday with a 29-8 setback to the Warriors.

It was just a month ago that the two teams met on the same field. Bullitt Central played one of its worst halves of the season in falling behind 21-7, but then rallied to force overtime at 21-21. Only a missed extra point in the extra period gave Anderson County the 28-27 victory.
