        SHEPHERDSVILLE - With an exciting combination of talented experience and fresh young talent, 2012 appears to be a banner year for area track teams in Bullitt County.
        At the high end, this is the second straight year that there are a pair of state champions returning to compete in the county. Bullitt East senior Trevor Troutman (discus) and North Bullitt sophomore Chelsey Slayton (800-meters) were at the top of their sports last season and will be working to duplicate those accomplishments.

        LOUISVILLE - The first high school state bowling tournament under the sponsorship of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association included a pair of Bullitt Countians on Friday in the girls' singles competition.
        Unfortunately for Bullitt Central's Megan Helm and North Bullitt's Kaitlyn Kinnaird, a pair seniors, the trip was a short one as they competed in less than 90 minutes at Executive Strike and Spare in Louisville.

        SHEPHERDSVILLE - Sensing that something big was being built in the Kentucky mountains, Bullitt Central senior James Joiner recently decided that his football career would continue at Pikeville University.
        The Bears went 4-6 last season, but seem to have the makings of a bigger and better team in the future.
