        LOUISVILLE - Putting on one impressive defensive performance, the Bullitt East Chargers won and advanced on Sunday in the semi-finals of the Sixth Region Tournament at Bellarmine University's Knights Hall.
        Battling a Butler squad that the Chargers had split a pair of games with back in December, Bullitt East gave up 22 points in the first quarter and then held the Bears to just 17 points over the final three frames to secure a 49-39 victory.

        That success has once again paid dividends after senior Chris Badgett signed recently to continue playing the sport at St. Catharine University in Springfield, Kentucky.
        The soccer success is a domino effect. Badgett got an assist with his college decision from former Eagle player Matt Bloom who is now competing in both soccer and golf at St. Catharine.
