     SHEPHERDSVILLE – Junior college baseball programs in Illinois have suddenly found fertile recruiting grounds here in the heart of Kentucky.

         Recently, Bullitt Central senior Ben Parker signed all the necessary papers to play at Southeastern Illinois Junior College in Harrisburg, Illinois. Parker will join Bullitt Central teammate Cody Powell who had signed with the Falcons earlier. North Bullitt has players presently on coach Jeremy Irlbeck’s team.

     MOUNT WASHINGTON – An injury late in his junior year of high school hampered Bullitt East’s Cameron Carter during his senior season of soccer last fall.

         Still, despite limited playing time for the Chargers as a senior, Carter got the attention of Campbellsville University head coach Adam Preston. The pair saw eye-to-eye on a few things and recently Preston was in Mount Washington to get Carter’s signature to play for the Tigers starting this fall.

     MOUNT WASHINGTON – Just a month after long-time head coach Troy Barr stepped down, Bullitt East wasted no time in promoting assistant coach John Hunt to be the fifth coach in the program’s 34-year history.

         Hunt, who has never been a head coach of a basketball program, knows that he is getting the keys to a pretty fast car.
