     SHEPHERDSVILLE - Professional jockey Jesus Castanon recently rode in his first Kentucky Derby, with a fourth-place finish aboard the colt Shackleford. Later that night Castanon and his family headed to their ol' Kentucky home, not so far away, in Bullitt County.

    Jesus and his wife, Rolanda, have lived in Shepherdsville for most of their decade-long marriage. They have two children, Drew (8) and Isaiah (3).

     HEBRON ESTATES - The big finish to the 2011 high school track and field season got off to an explosive start on Wednesday as the three local high schools competed in the annual All-Bullitt County Track and Field Championships at North Bullitt High School.

     MOUNT WASHINGTON - Trailing 3-2 midway through the fourth inning, the Bullitt East Lady Chargers once again found a win to win, scoring three times in the bottom of the fourth and then adding a solo home run in the sixth to beat 24th District rival North Bullitt 6-3 on Wednesday.
