  • East in fight for last play-off...

MOUNT WASHINGTON - The message can’t get any clearer for the Bullitt East Chargers heading into Friday night’s game in Hodgenville against LaRue County.

Coming off the 18-6 loss to North Bullitt, the Chargers will have just one mantra this week - ‘just win.’ It can’t get any more simple than that.

  • Cougars looking to pirate away a...

SHEPHERDSVILLE - Bullitt Central head coach Danny Leasor has been around the block a few times as a high school football coach.

The veteran coach has learned that you can’t pull the wool over the eyes of the modern, internet savvy high school student. There is also the fact that the modern football player watches a lot of video of upcoming opponents.

  • NB volleyball earns top seed

HEBRON ESTATES - The North Bullitt Lady Eagles wrapped up the top-seed for the post-season district tournament on Tuesday with an impressive 25-19, 25-16 victory over Bullitt Central.

The win was the fifth straight against district rivals this season for the green and gold with only a game remaining against Spencer County on Thursday.

  • OT Success Story - East stuns...

MOUNT WASHINGTON - As overtimes go, the two plays that made up Bullitt East’s big finish on Friday could not have been drawn up any better, even by a Hollywood script writer or by Charger head coach Doug Preston.

On the very first play of the extra time, the Chargers handed the ball to senior fullback Matt Husband and he found a huge hole on the left side of the line and he dashed into the end zone, giving Bullitt East the lead for the first time in the game against district rival Marion County.

  • BE-BC finally play, but it is...

MOUNT WASHINGTON - The fourth time was the charm on Monday as Bullitt East and Bullitt Central finally met in a boys’ soccer match at the beginning of the final week of the regular season.

It has been a tough season for Bullitt Central and three previous times they had to postpone matches against their county rivals for numerous reasons. Finally, Bullitt East head coach Mike Brangers sent Bullitt Central a list of available dates for his program and told them to ‘pick one.’

  • Thursday Night - Marion visits...

HEBRON ESTATES - The second of three straight ‘big games’ for the North Bullitt Eagles to close out the regular season will be on tap Thursday this week as the green and gold play host to district rival Marion County.

Both teams have already wrapped up a spot in the Class 5-A play-offs, but a home game in the first-round will be on the line for the winner. North Bullitt will get the number two seed behind Collins with a win while Marion County will get the district’s number one seed if the Knights win on Thursday.

  • East stuns Central in final V-...

SHEPHERDSVILLE - The final intra-county volleyball game of the regular season could well be a preview of the madness that could take place in next week’s 29th District Tournament at North Bullitt.

Meeting in Shepherdsville on Tuesday, Bullitt East and Bullitt Central battled for every point before the Lady Chargers showed why there is very little difference between the top and bottom team in the district this season as the red and gold pulled out a 25-19, 24-26, 25-15 victory.

  • Local CC teams learning the ropes

SHEPHERDSVILLE - The area cross-country teams are still getting up to speed for the 2010 season but the early results have been promising, both on an individual as well as a team perspective.

    Central Hardin Invitational

This past Saturday, a number of Bullitt Central and Bullitt East runners competed in the Central Hardin Invitational at Freeman Lake Park in Radcliff.

  • 'Run' will be the key...

MOUNT WASHINGTON - Two teams on the rise will collide in Mount Washington on Friday in the annual renewal of The Clash as North Bullitt travels to Bullitt East in a monumental district contest.

Thanks to Bullitt East’s overtime victory against Marion County last week, this game suddenly has major post-season implications. While it appears that both teams are safely into the play-offs, the winner on Friday will be in a strong position to host a first-round game in the Class 4-A post-season.

  • BC rallies during second half,...

LAWRENCEBURG - A big second half comeback was not quite enough on Friday for the Bullitt Central Cougars.

After pulling even late in the fourth quarter, the Cougars could not take advantage of the first score in the overtime, missing on the extra point. Anderson County scored on the very next play and the extra point kick secured a 28-27 win for the Bearcats.
