HEBRON ESTATES – Over the previous five seasons in which he has been involved in the North Bullitt softball program, Eric Lambert has seen a lot of different things.

Mostly he has seen head coaches come and go. As an assistant coach, Lambert has worked under four different head coaches. During one season, in 2006, Lambert was elevated to head coach when John Hammonds stepped down midway through the season.

  • Eagles could only put it all...

HEBRON ESTATES - Not every night could be Feb. 6 for the North Bullitt Eagles this season.

For one night, the green and gold put all the pieces together. The result was a 56-48 victory over Southern, the team that earned the top seed in the 24th District Tournament and eventually reached the district final before losing a close game to Fairdale.

Most of the rest of the season was one frustration after another for the Eagles. The team ended up with only four victories in 28 games and Southern was the only team they defeated that ended up with a winning record.

  • Inexperience hung heavy for the...

HEBRON ESTATES – In late November, veteran North Bullitt Lady Eagle head coach Bill Robinette didn’t have any lofty expectations for his 2008-09 squad.

That is often the case when a program loses all five starters from the previous season and eight of its top ten players.

Unfortunately, when the green and gold went 5-5 in the month of December, the expectations might have suddenly exceeded reality. North Bullitt then went winless in January and there were just three wins over the final two months of the season.

  • Chargers' only problem was...

MOUNT WASHINGTON - Not much went wrong for the Bullitt East Chargers over the final two months of the 2008-09 basketball season.

Well, at least nothing went wrong that didn’t involve the word ‘Fairdale.’

After losing to Fairdale on Jan. 9, Bullitt East would finish the season winning 12 of the next 14 games. Unfortunately, both of those losses were to the Bulldogs, 87-68 on Feb. 4 and then a 60-45 setback in the semi-finals of the 24th District Tournament.

  • Lady Cougars had a dream season...

SHEPHERDSVILLE - For three months, the Bullitt Central Lady Cougars had a dream season.

In one half of one game, the final page of the story turned into a nightmare.

Still, veteran head coach Bryan Bates is telling everyone that you have to look at a season as a complete package. In that regard, the Lady Cougars were very successful this winter, finishing with a 19-8 record.

  • Hanley's NCAA stay is short

SHEPHERDSVILLE - Bullitt East graduate Whitney Hanley and her Austin Peay teammates had a tough time on Sunday in the first round of the Women’s NCAA Basketball Tournament as they fell to number one seed Duke 83-42.

The loss ended a magical run for the Lady Governor’s after they won three straight games in the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament in Nashville ten days earlier.

Austin Peay finished the season with a 17-16 mark.

  • Vincent signs for volleyball...

HEBRON ESTATES " Kentucky Christian University’s top-10 program got the signature of North Bullitt’s Jordan Vincent recently to continue her volleyball career at the next level.

Vincent was flanked by her parents, sister and coaches during the big day in the North Bullitt library. Kentucky Christian coach Bruce Dixon was also present to make it all official.

Vincent has been a part of the Lady Eagle program for the past four seasons. She has also competed for three seasons with all club teams in Louisville.
