  • Bullitt East capitalizes on big...

HEBRON ESTATES - Forget about the records.

    Forget about the weather.

Forget about if it is a district game or just a pickup contest in a subdivision field.

It was Bullitt East versus North Bullitt on Friday night in the annual CLASH.

On this particular night, it would be Charger coach Doug Preston who would leave with the biggest smile as his Bullitt East team held off the scrappy Eagles 21-13.

Both Preston and North Bullitt counterpart Brett Newton found reasons to smile after the district battle.

  • Showdown! BC hosts undefeated...

SHEPHERDSVILLE - For the first time in 30 years, Bullitt Central’s football team will be in a one-game situation for a district crown.

None of the players on this team, as well as some of the assistant coaches, were even born in 1979 when the Cougars traveled to Radcliff and beat North Hardin behind the play of quarterback Damon Blanton and head coach Mike Manley. That team earned the only home play-off game in school history.

  • East and LaRue battle for home...

MOUNT WASHINGTON - A home play-off game will be on the line on Friday when the Bullitt East Chargers return home to take on LaRue County in a key Class 4-A showdown.

The post-season scenario is simple. The winner of this game will finish second (behind Marion County) in the district and will host a game in the first round of the play-offs on Friday, Nov. 6. The loser will finish third in the district and will have to go on the road for all of the play-offs.

This will also be Homecoming Week at Bullitt East.

  • East secures top seed, then...

SHEPHERDSVILLE -- The Bullitt East Lady Chargers had already wrapped up the number seed for the upcoming 27th District Tournament, but coach Michelle Gajdik’s team still made an emphatic point on Tuesday hen they pushed aside Bullitt Central 25-15, 25-10 in the final regular match-up between district foes.

The two rivals had played a three game marathon back on Aug. 27 in Mount Washington, but this time the Lady Chargers took control early and never looked back as they won for the sixth straight time this season against their district foes.

  • East repeats Two-County title

SHEPHERDSVILLE - The final tune-up before next week’s regional tournament went to Bullitt East as the Chargers put together two strong days of golf to win the Two-County Cup for the second straight season.

For the first time, the event which features all three Bullitt County teams along with Spencer County, the tournament was over two days with two different formats. The four teams played a best-ball, two-man scramble on Wednesday at Tanglewood Golf Course and then moved to Heritage Hill Golf Course on Thursday for a modified stroke-play event.

  • District outranks rivalry in...

HEBRON ESTATES - You would have to think that nothing that happens on Friday night in the 30th meeting between North Bullitt and Bullitt East on the football field will surprise anyone.

Amazingly, this will be the fifth meeting over the past three seasons between the rivals. Only Trinity and St. Xavier have battled each other as many times over the same time span.

  • BULLITT COUNTY SPORTS: Oct. 14

MOUNT WASHINGTON - It was an exciting night of fall sports at Bullitt East High School on Tuesday.

Inside, the Bullitt East volleyball team won its sixth straight 29th District title by defeating Spencer County 25-17, 25-19.

Both teams will advance to next week's regional tournament in either Shelby County or Anderson County.

Outside, the Ninth District boys' soccer semifinals matched Bullitt East versus Nelson County.

  • BC seeking to find itself after...

SHEPHERDSVILLE - Who did Bullitt Central play last week?

Who do they play this week?

Cougar head coach Danny Leasor really doesn’t care at this point.

Coming off the embarrassing 42-7 loss to Anderson County last week, Leasor doesn’t want his team looking backward. In fact, the team wasn’t even going to look at film earlier this week on Friday’s first loss of the season.

  • BE's Nusz heads back to...

SHEPHERDSVILLE - Sometimes a step back can help you take a few steps forward.

That was the case for Bullitt East junior Katie Nusz as a few days away from golf paid dividends on Tuesday as she fired an 86 at Shawnee Golf Course and advanced to the Girls’ Kentucky State Golf Tournament for the second time in three years.
