     SHEPHERDSVILLE – Few, if any, high school athletes have had to overcome as many setbacks as Bullitt Central senior Katie Hutchison to receive attention from a college program ready to offer athletic financial aide.

     SHEPHERDSVILLE – The track teams at North Bullitt and Bullitt East both were in meets last Tuesday after returning from spring break and the meets were only a few miles apart, but as of yet this season, the two squads have not battled each other.

     SHEPHERDSVILLE – The Bullitt County Softball Invitational will make another attempt to conduct a full tournament this coming weekend as both Bullitt East and Bullitt Central will host games.

  • BE’s Willis, Barr part of Friday...

     SHEPHERDSVILLE – After sitting out last week’s Ohio/Kentucky All-Star game because of Bullitt East’s prom, Charger standout Derek Willis will be in action this Friday when he plays in the Kentucky Derby Festival Basketball Classic at Freedom Hall.

  • 2013 Bullitt County Basketball ‘...

     Bullitt East senior Rusty Troutman and Lady Charger eighth-grader Lindsey Duvall  (who attends Eastside Middle School) were presented trophies as the 2013 Bullitt County Players of the Year last week.

    The awards were presented by Mark Schmid and Tim Gonterman of Schmid Funeral Home who sponsor the awards along with The Awards Center, Reach 95.3 and The Pioneer News.

    Each players’ head coach was present. The entire 2013 All-Bullitt County Basketball Teams will be announced on Wednesday.

     SHEPHERDSVILLE – Bullitt Central football coach Danny Leasor will have honors raining down on him this weekend as the school where he has coached for 15 years pays tribute.

     MOUNT WASHINGTON – Not that very many have bad spring breaks in Florida, but the Bullitt East Lady Chargers had a spring break to remember last week as coach Ricky Hoffman’s team won all five of its games at ESPN Wide World of Sports complex at Disney World.

     SHEPHERDSVILLE – Despite a limited line-up last week, the Bullitt Central baseball squad stayed hot, winning the title in the first annual Generals’ Spring Break Bash at the new Thomas Nelson High School.

     MOUNT WASHINGTON – Baseball coaches of teams that stand 13-0 don’t normally have anything to complain about. That goes for Bullitt East head coach Jeff Bowles.
