  • Defense powers Lady Chargers

MOUNT WASHINGTON-- Pushed back two days because of cold weather, the Bullitt East Lady Chargers still made it look easy on Thursday as they cruised past 24th District rival Fern Creek 69-30.
It was another outstanding defensive effort for the red and gold as they moved to 10-2 on the season. In the ten wins, the Lady Chargers have not allowed more than 43 points in any of those games and those opponents are averaging just over 33 points a contest.

  • Wrestling Back in Action

FERN CREEK-- All three Bullitt County wrestling programs recently competed in the Gladiator Tournament at Fern Creek High School, a two-day 21-team event.
Bullitt Central had the best day as they scored 113 points to finish eighth in the big field. Bullitt East was 17th with 39 points while North Bullitt had 34 points to finish 18th.

  • Eagles win one at LaRue Co. event

SHEPHERDSVILLE – After starting the season 1-5, the North Bullitt Eagles found some reason for some holiday cheer as they won three games in two tournaments to head into the new year with a better feeling about themselves.

The second of the two tournaments started last Thursday at the National Guard Holiday Classic at LaRue County High school. This has often been a stop for the Eagles for a holiday tournament.

The Eagles once again played well, but the team is still having trouble finishing in tight situations.

  • BC girls win a morning game

FRANKFORT – An early morning wake-up call was no problem for the Bullitt Central Lady Cougars on Saturday as they traveled to Frankfort to play a single game in the Centira Metals/Staxx BBQ Shootout.

Playing at 10 a.m. in the one day ‘showcase’ event at Franklin County High School, after leaving Shepherdsville at 7:30 a.m., the Lady Cougars found enough offense to turn back Garrard County 48-40. The opponent came into the game with a winning record.

  • Lady Eagles come up just short...

ELIZABETHTOWN – It wasn’t a win and it snapped the team’s ten game winning streak by the North Bullitt Lady Eagles, but the green and gold put forth another solid effort on Friday in a 70-60 loss to Ballard in the second game of the Bluegrass Cellular New Years Classic at Central Hardin High School.

The event, a one-day ‘showcase’ of games, sort of mistimed this game as it was played at 3 p.m. on a Friday afternoon. Ballard came into the game ranked fifth in the state while North Bullitt was riding that 10-game winning streak.

  • Bullitt East will now play Fern...

SHEPERHDSVILLE - Cold weather over the first two days of this week was on everybody’s mind and that included local athletes as all the games scheduled for Monday and Tuesday were postponed.

As of Tuesday afternoon, three of the games had been rescheduled.

The biggest of those games was moved back just two days. Now, the 24th District showdown between Bullitt East and Fern Creek will be played on Thursday night in Mount Washington instead of the original Tuesday night.
