  • Eagles hold off BC’s rally for...

SHEPHERDSVILLE – The North Bullitt Eagles didn’t have their best night shooting the ball from the perimeter, but the green and gold did plenty of other things right on Friday as they traveled south on Preston Highway and beat arch-rival Bullitt Central 76-71.

The victory was the fifth in a row for the Eagles to start the season and by far the most competitive. North Bullitt had been averaging 83 points a contest and had won the four previous games by at least 15 points.

  • Lady Eagles get the best of BC

SHEPHERDSVILLE – Holding Bullitt Central to just two baskets in the middle of the game, the North Bullitt Lady Eagles were in complete control as they got the best of the Lady Cougars by a 64-35 count.

The win was the fifth in a row to start the season for the Lady Eagles. Even more importantly, this season, this first meeting is the outcome that will be used for the seeding process for the 23rd District Tournament in late February. North Bullitt has won four straight district titles and they are obviously the team to beat again this winter.

  • Chargers win sixth straight

MOUNT WASHINGTON – Getting 30 points from senior Tyler Sharpe and a double-double from Brandon Klefot, the Bullitt East Chargers made it six straight to open the season when they beat Cordia 65-54 on Saturday in the Central Bank Classic at Lexington Christian High School.

Bullitt East bolted out of the gate, leading 17-9 after the first stop and then pushed the margin to 32-20 at halftime. That was more than enough for the Chargers.

  • Eagles soar past another strong...

FAIRDALE – Just days after picking up one of the most impressive regular season wins in several years when they beat DeSales, the North Bullitt Eagles were back at it on Tuesday jumping out to an early lead and never letting up as they beat traditional Sixth Region power Fairdale 90-75.

The start could not have been any better for the Eagles as they were up 11-0 just moments in the game fueled by a trio of three-pointers from senior Ryan Henson. For the game, Henson had a game-high 32 points with seven three-pointers.

  • Press takes toll on Lady Chargers

SHIVLEY – Digging a big hole early in the game, the Bullitt East Lady Chargers could never recover on Tuesday, dropping a 72-52 decision to state power Butler.

The game was supposed to be a showcase between two of the best teams in Kentucky this winter. Both teams were ranked among the top eight teams in the state in the pre-season.

Unfortunately, that all changed when Bullitt East standout Lindsey Duvall went down after knee surgery.

  • BC rallies in third period for a...

SHEPHERDSVILLE – Trailing by five points at halftime, the Bullitt Central Cougars rallied on Tuesday with a big third quarter as they got the best of visiting Evangel 78-69.

The win moved the Cougars to 3-1 overall after the first 10 days of the regular season.

This could have been a major blow to Bullitt Central’s post-season dreams as they almost overlooked what is obviously a vastly improved Evangel squad that lost to the Cougars by 32 points a year ago.

  • CG Elementary runners have big...

  • Chargers hold off tough...

SHIVLEY – As with many early season games, good teams have a few bumps in the road as they learn what they are and are not capable of doing.

That was once again the case for the Bullitt East Chargers on Tuesday as they traveled into Jefferson County for the traditional early-season showdown with Sixth Region rival Butler. The Chargers started well and ended well but there were a few bumps in the middle before the red and gold secured a 76-60 win.
