  • BC’s Mason recruits...

SHEPHERDSVILLE – Sometimes you just have to take matters into your own hands.

That philosophy worked out just fine for Bullitt Central senior Dakota Mason and his desire to play baseball at the next level. After not getting much initial contact, Mason opted to go on the offensive, contacting Campbellsville University baseball coaches directly.

    It worked.

“I decided to contact them,” the Cougar senior said. “It was about four months ago now. I started the interest in them in me.

  • Baseball was very good to...

In last Wednesday’s edition, there was the All-Sixth Region Baseball team listed along with the top players in both the 23rd and 24th Districts. All of those honor teams were loaded with local players and coaches.

Congratulations certainly go out to North Bullitt head coach Brian Wise for being named Sixth Region Coach of the Year. Any time that you can win a baseball region that includes defending state champion Pleasure Ridge Park, Butler and Bullitt East, you have accomplished quite a feat.

  • BE archery 10th at nationals

MOUNT WASHINGTON – With a young team, Bullitt East archery coach Jason Waddle was looking for good things, and hoping for great things, when his team went into competition at the National Archery in the Schools Program National Tournament last month.

Competing at the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center, Waddle got great as his team surpassed all expectations with a 10th place finish out of 164 schools.

  • Griffee signs to play football...

Peyton Griffee recently signed a letter of intent to play collegiate football at Georgetown College. The son of Keith Griffee and Jennifer Porter recently graduated from Christian Academy in Louisville.

Griffee, who lives with his family in Mount Washington, was an offensive lineman for the Centurions.

Peyton will be following in family footsteps as both his father and uncle are both Georgetown graduates. (Photo submitted)

  • East softball players in state...

SHEPHERDSVILLE – While the high school season did not go as well as they had hoped, particularly in the post-season, there has been some good news in the past week for Bullitt East softball players Morgan Raymer and Kelsey Gravens.

This past weekend, the two seniors played in the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association’s East/West All-Star games at Ballard High School. The two were on the West team that represented the best senior players in the state from the teams in the First to the Eighth Region.

  • NB's George taking hoops...

HEBRON ESTATES – For many, the college-recruiting trail can be a grind…at any level.

It wasn’t that for North Bullitt senior Maria George. Even before the start of her senior season playing basketball for the Lady Eagles, George had decided that her next destination with the sport would be at Spalding University.

While George may have known what route she was going to take, she didn’t let Spalding head coach Charlie Just know until late in the spring

  • Track repairs facing more...

SHEPHERDSVILLE -- Bringing the three high school tracks might have a little higher financial hurdle to leap than originally thought.

  • North Bullitt's Bauer to...

HEBRON ESTATES – A new found interest in golf has worked out very well for North Bullitt senior Alanie Bauer.

Just a year after taking up the sport and competing for the Lady Eagle team for just one season, the senior has committed to continue her career next season at Spalding University.

  • BC’s Gossett taking volleyball...

SHEPHERDSVILLE – For Bullitt Central senior Amy Gossett, college was always in her future.

What Gossett wasn’t so sure about was continuing her volleyball career at the next level. When the senior finally decided that she wanted to play her sport in college, everything else quickly fell into place.
